WHO: Juliet and Dean Winchester WHERE: Juliet's office WHAT: first therapy session since he changed doctors WHEN: let's go with today RATING: PG?
There had been a few new patients for Juliet recently - changes of staff, for the most part, and a few fresh arrivals. It was hectic, but hectic was how she liked it. The last few days had been a whirl of patient files and consulting psychology books on conditions she had little experience with. Out of all of it, she had to tease out whose condition was whose. Dean she thought she remembered, because it was linked to Anna's - demons. Juliet had to admit she had some sympathy with the delusional clients who believed in demons. In this sort of place, it was easier than usual to believe in demons, with people acting in bizarre, unpredictable, and sometimes frightening ways. So thinking that there were demons around didn't seem all that crazy. Symbolically they were. She just wanted to help them see that is was symbolic, and there were better ways to deal with it than salt and holy water.
Juliet walked over to her filing cabinet, unlocked it using the combination lock, opened it and took out Dean's file. Browsing through it - revision of a sort - it all came back to her. Mutism as well as schizophrenia, plus co-dependency, night terrors, and separation anxiety disorder. That sounded familiar enough - Muninn, one of Juliet's other clients, had most of those. So really, Dean should be a cross between Anna and Muninn. Easy.
Juliet was not naive enough to think that. Every client was different and challenging, and she awaited his arrival with the same nervousness and excitement as always greeted a new patient. When he did arrive, she saw his shadow across the door and invited him before he could even knock.
