There was a time when John had thought he could never be bored as long as he had enough books to read. That time he had visited The Library with Donna, with the little girl who would be there forever... he could really understand that. The whole of eternity with a load of books. It didn't seem like such a bad life. But The Doctor was an active sort of man, and had spent too much time of late in the same place. There wasn't nearly enough running. Oh, sometimes he went outside and mistook patients for aliens and ran away from them a bit, but there wasn't anywhere new to run to, and no new things to do. So The Doctor went back to the library, his natural home. He wandered into the Physics section and felt a pang of sadness as he saw the very book Rose had been reading when he had first met her in here. She had been trying to find a way to reach him, and had found him, but now she was trapped in a parallel world, and no book was going to bring her back. With a sigh, he moved on, hoping something would grab him so he could lose himself in another world for a while, and shield himself from this one.
