Dexter smiled at Felix's answer. "Spoken like a true man of science, whether you want to be or not. I don't believe in God or heaven or hell. Demons and angels, sure, in the figurative sense. Everything is, as you said, an effect from human forces. Cause and effect, that's all life is."
He leaned back against the bench and stretched his arms across the back as he got comfortable. "Someone once told me that life is all about how you react to things. Some people handle stress well, others don't. Some people are great at grief, some aren't. And some people, the handful of special oddities, don't feel at all. And it's a wonderful thing to be among them, in my opinion."
