"You're welcome," he answered quietly, watching Felix smoke. He had been around his fair share of smokers--it came with the territory of working with law enforcement; everyone had his or her own vice--and didn't mind the brief pauses and occasional billows of smoke. He did appreciate that Felix hadn't blown the smoke at him as so many of his colleagues happened to do.
"I'm in dire need of another trip to the library," he continued. "I'm almost done with this book and I'd like another, but I need to just...browse. See what jumps out at me." He laced his fingers together and leaned forward a little as he watched the happenings of the courtyard, forearms resting on his knees.
