Hotchner had a bubble - he called it personally, his "work bubble", it was the area within which his work and everyone he worked with, existed. Outside of the work bubble he generally pretended things within the work bubble did not exist.
So, it startled him when he heard a voice coming from within the work bubble, when he wasn't in the work bubble himself. His head jerked up and he blinked, staring at the short nurse in front of him, her face pulled into a slightly peeved expression.
He cleared his throat.
"LeClair... Rikku, hmm," his vision shifted to her box of cereal and a smile tugged across his face - "seeing as you don't appear to have any problem indulging your inner eight year old at the breakfast table, maybe you can find... er.." he looked at his list "Friendly Munchies." He had the decency to look mildly sheepish.
