Barbara was the slightest bit on edge these days, but she told herself it was simply a side effect from once again working in the same building as the man who'd once tried to kill her. It was only natural that until she became used to the place and her surroundings she might be a bit jumpy. Still, she didn't like it, hated the fact that a knock on her door still made her look up with suspicion. Cheshire was far better run than Arkham when it came to the security of their patients and doctors, it was simply taking her awhile to become accustomed to that.
Seconds after the knock on her door a chiming sound rang on her computer. It was an alarm, reminding her that the first of her appointments was set to arrive at 10:30 that morning. It was 10:31 and she immediately wiped the look of suspicion from her face. Eventually, she would get used to this.
"Come in, the door's open," she called out. Looking around quickly, she checked to make sure at least one of the two chairs in front of her desk as clear for the newest arrival to sot down. Laurie's file was pulled up on the computer screen. She'd gone to bed after reviewing it the night before and, as usual, it had been committed completely to memory by that morning.
She was taking one last sip of coffee when the door opened and the seventeen year old walked in. "Good morning, Laurie. Have a seat if you'd like." She'd had patients who'd preferred to spend entire sessions pacing.
Babs extended her hand over her desk. "I'm Doctor Gordon, but you can call me Babs. It's good to meet you."
