Who: Jane Jones and Open What: Ringing in the New Year When: Thursday night Where: Common Room Rating: TBD
Jane sat with her knees curled up to her chest as she watched the clock on the wall tick closer and closer to midnight. Another holiday missed because she was stuck in this hell hole.
She hadn't seen any of her old friends, which wasn't such a bad thing for them, but she was lonely. Having hardly talked to anyone since she'd arrived, she'd decided to spend that evening in the common room in hopes that someone would acknowledge she existed, even if it just meant they told her to move over. So she sat, and she waited.
As much as she hated Cheshire, in a twisted way it felt like home. At least here she didn't have to deal with her grandmother hovering around her every instant, or worse, Jamie trying so hard to pretend to like her when she knew it was just her grandmother's coaxing. She was just one more lunatic here, nothing special, and for the first time in nearly a year, she felt the pressure inside of her dissipate. She didn't have to be Alice Ayers or Jane Jones or anyone else here. She didn't have to be anyone at all.
