Uniqueness.
It is a universal term that could apply to every single living being on Earth. All people are born special, never quite the same as the one before. Even identical twins have noticeable differences, and no two people are ever truly alike. It is in that way, that everyone is a snowflake in their own individual manner. Intricate. Beautiful. Magnificent.
Uniqueness draws us to each other. We are all magnets, attracting and rejecting each other in an endless cycle that may go on for as long as life exists on the planet. Everybody has a quirk, no matter where they're from, what color their skin is, what language they speak. And everybody has a quality that will inevitably draw people to them, or frighten them away.
These are such qualities that Cheshire's newest staff addition, Hannah Rhett, admittedly was very fond of discovering. What she lacked in extroverted personality she made up for in quiet skill and dedication to the art of people. Understanding where they came from. Learning exactly what it was that made them tick.
The argument that humans are merely flesh and blood is scientifically proven, but sometimes, science can be flawed. It can be biased and disregard important facts. And that is why Hannah opts for the other road that is not quite the wrong road, but simply a different one. It is also the path that led to her career and her ever strong love for helping people discover who they truly were inside.
Walking the halls of the first floor, she thought on this as she passed each door, wondering just what type of person would be shielded behind them, and if she would ever get to meet them. To some extent, it was almost exciting. But they were not the important ones today. Today, at this very moment, she only had one course, and it was Room 102. Pullus, Ewan, aged 26, currently suffering from several anxiety and paranoia disorders. Incidentally, this was precisely the reason why she was making the trip at all.
Hannah had read up on Ewan's file, reading carefully to make sure she wouldn't miss any important details. Judging from his diagnosis, she knew it would be difficult to coax him out of his room. When one suffered from such debilitating disorders, it would certainly make normal life extremely difficult to cope with. Even just leaving the room was like torture, a hand around their neck that sparked fear and insecurity.
Today, she would be visiting the boy who had recently become her new patient, and would be making her own judgments upon meeting him.
She knocked curtly on his door, alerting him of her presence -- or maybe it frightened him? Only time would tell, and time was something that Hannah most certainly had.
