Michael’s face gets hot again when Wolfgang mentions a previous date so casually. Do they think this is a date? If they did, would they be okay with it? Would they still want to be here? Did they like the restaurant? It seemed like they did, but then the two of them had to leave so fast.
“I did, but it wasn’t like I planned it or anything,” he explains. “I just ran into Tiffany’s marketing president, she was in a café, I didn’t know it was her. I saw she was working on the brand, started talking to her about jewelry ads and she liked my ideas. I mean of course she did, I’m a genius. I won a Clio last year, you know. But my bosses don’t like me to do presentations or come to dinners because… uh, they’ve said a bunch of stuff. My voice is irritating, I go off-script, I make clients nervous. I’m gonna have to talk to Tiffany, though, they asked for me.”
