“Um, we should go,” Wolfgang suggests, starting to get up, because honestly they are not one hundred percent sure they can make the bird go away. That is again something they ought to be able to do, but nothing they do quite works right. There's always some weird quirk to it.
(They can only hope it's not about to transform into an actual shadow goose and go on a rampage, the way geese do.)
They hurry out into the night air, largely unnoticed by people around them. It's much colder outside, but they're reluctant to do anything about it with magic, because they'll probably end up setting something on fire or making a boat when they meant for a coat, or something.
