“You’ve tried making shadows before?” Michael asks, surprised. He thought it was just something Wolfgang had done on a whim. When he strokes the bird's back, actually touches it, it fluffs itself happily. It feels different than his shadows, much more solid, and he wonders if he could get his to do something like this eventually.
