Wolfgang had started to write that down — their handwriting is terrible, it's worth noting — but then stops mid-letter.
They glance up then, hand still resting on the counter. They are extremely hesitant and that's written all over their face, in the tension in their hand.
“Then I need blood.”
This is usually when people turn and run, or laugh, thinking they're joking, so they quantify that statement quickly, “Just one. A drop.”
