Receiving some information about the place that had temporarily become her home sounded like an absolutely wonderful idea. Kaira really hated bothering people, especially when they appeared to be busy, so the offer was appreciated.
Kneeling down, Kaira withdrew two slender objects and began delicately picking the lock, brows furrowed and gaze intent. "They were," she said conversationally, tilting her head and smiling with self-satisfaction as she felt the lock give. Standing and giving the door a push, she tucked her tools away and looked over at Jade, clearly pleased with herself. "I suppose not many raiders know how to pick locks. Inexcusable, really, but to our benefit."
Dusting her hands off as if she'd just gotten dirty, Kaira entered the storeroom, eyes scanning the metal shelves and all they contained. Two ammunition boxes were stacked in a corner beside a few discarded metal containers that she already knew contained various small weapons. A footlocker sat on a bottom shelf, something she hadn't had time to open and examine.
Kaira giggled softly, a very girlish sound, and spread her arms wide as if she'd not only discovered this place, but had created it as well.
