"Two months, I believe." Truth be told, Kaira hadn't kept track of the days, nor did she usually bother. One was much the same as another, and unless something significant occurred, she did not pay much attention. She ate when she was hungry, slept when she was tired, and occasionally showed interest in an especially pretty sunset.
"I did not get any...explanations, no." Kaira's brows furrowed and she picked up her pace, noticing how Jade kept pulling ahead and then dropping back as if Kaira were holding her back. How could the woman walk so quickly? The ground was far from smooth, and if she even tried to jog, she'd probably wind up flat on her face before long.
Reaching up, Kaira rubbed the back of her neck absently. "Was someone supposed to? It was a little...hectic when I arrived. I did not wish to bother anyone unnecessarily." Using the sun and their environs as a guide, Kaira led them to a nondescript series of shacks well to the northeast. The wood was rotted in places and full of holes, but every roof was more or less intact, and an empty well lay sandwiched between two buildings. There was very little shade to be found, and it was clear that the makeshift 'village' had been abandoned for some time.
Kaira warily drew her blade, gesturing with her chin to one of the buildings. "Everything is in there. I will have to pick the lock again once we are inside. I doubt anyone has arrived, but..."
