Kaira did not quite understand what the Progeny were, and it was just something else on her long list of Maybe I'll Ask About This One Day. She was weary enough that so long as someone wasn't actively trying to kill her, she just didn't give much of a damn.
If Jade was capable of...what was it she'd said? Handling electric currents? Then she must have been physically or genetically modified in some manner. It would explain the strength she'd felt behind that handshake, and explain how Jade had managed to survive this long, even within the confines of the Dam.
Bowing her head, she murmured, "I appreciate the company. It often grows lonely out there, and I will rest easier knowing there is another set of eyes around." Which was putting it lightly; until she found something to really focus on, Kaira was an absolute wreck when she was traveling by herself. In moments where her attention was fully riveted on something else - like when picking locks - she was dangerously oblivious to the rest of the world.
Having a companion would have been preferable from the beginning, but Kaira did not know anyone well enough to ask. This woman, however, had approached her, so the invitation felt natural.
"Two people can also carry more than one." Unclasping her hands, Kaira knelt down to retrieve an empty pack that had been resting beside her, slinging it over her shoulder. Then she indicated a location roughly northeast of them. "Shall we?"
