Wednesday - Late January
Who: Ashton Knight & Thorne Whittier.
When: Evening.
What: Ash arrives in Las Vegas.
Where: Las Vegas.
Rating:  R. [contains cannibalism tendencies and probably a lot of violence to come.]
Status:  Incomplete.

The gates loomed before him like the gates of hell, or somewhat similar to how this fledgling would have imagined them but though the analogy was probably right there was one thing different about this fence, the gates were closed, here he was thinking that of anywhere in the world, it would be the gates of hell that would be the ones to extend wide and welcome him with iron glad open arms. The thought amused Ash somewhat the longer his mesmerizing hazel eyes stared up at them, if this really was the right place he saw no need for the gates to be as dooming or as locked as they appeared or perhaps it had just been the rumour that had been wrong, if this truly were the safe place of hell dwellers he had been told about then why the gates? Surely they were not to keep certain creatures out, he doubted that the very creatures within the city would have a problem dealing with the challenges that wandered into the city and if they really thought that a fence, a gate could keep those creatures out they were wrong. A new thought struck the young vampire’s mind as he contemplated this, perhaps this gate, and the watchtower above it from where he could sense bodies moving within was not there to keep things out but rather to keep certain things within. The idea of it sent a shudder down his spine but he paid little attention to it and instead focused his attention upon the beings guarding the fence and gate, he smelt the air around him, so many different creatures dwelled within this city, the city of Las Vegas but it wasn’t the scent of unfamiliar vampires or lycans that had his attention, it was the smell of humans, the only and entire reason as to why he had travelled here and it made his mouth water. God he was starving.

With his hunger wiping all previous thoughts from his head, Ash walked straight up to the large gate, bent his knees and sprang up, his hand grabbing the very top of the fence in the split second it had taken him to jump up there and he swung himself over it with ease, landing on the other side of it and despite the drop the dirt beneath him barely stirred. His knees had bent ever so slightly to absorb the impact before he started walking instantly as though he’d done little more than jump the last step of a staircase, his hand sliding into the pocket of his black leather jacket only to withdraw a packet of cigarettes. Shaking one out of the pack he placed it between his full lips and lit it without even the slightest hesitation or nervousness toward the flame and as he placed both items back into his pocket that was when he heard them.

He knew they had been coming which was entirely why he had stopped walking to smoke though as he stood there, inhaling deeply upon the cigarette held between his fingers he had not stopped out of politeness or care for the rules, nor had he stopped out of curiosity as to what these beings slowly surrounding him were, he’d never smelt anything like them before there was something off about the scent of their blood but nonetheless these beings were human, mortals at that and they would quench his thirst just fine.

"By order of the Sanguine you are obligated to identify yourself."

Ash let his eyes slip shut as he listened to those words, the Sanguine, he wondered briefly who they were and what they had done to deem them so important enough to run an entire supernatural city on their own, he’d never heard the name before but then again, he’d never been one to keep tabs on the other supernatural, completely out of touch with vampires. He felt nothing toward his kind, what were they to him but an occasional meal and information source that soon after he disposed of.

He felt the pulse of the man behind him who had spoken, he would hear his heartbeat, hear the blood rushing through his veins every beat pushing it further and farther into his body, hell, he could damn near feel the heat radiating from the ghoul even though he wasn’t even that close to begin with and it made him grin. Putting on his most charming smile, Ash looked over his shoulder to look at the guy that had spoken before turning around completely, that one dimple appearing indented into his cheek with that smile that could have swept just about anyone off their feet, tonight however, those whom observed would have caught sight of those razor sharp fangs glinting gently in the darkness, his eyes burning with hunger. “And if I deny said obligation?” The question had barely left his lips before he heard the air move to his right, he barely glanced in the direction before quickly taking a step back, the movement too fast for human eyes to catch as the dagger that had been thrown in his general direction went sailing straight passed him, landing in the throat of a ghoul to his left, he watched the creature fall to the ground spluttering, blood spurting and spraying across the ground and suddenly Ash couldn’t think about anything else he couldn’t concentrate on the people around him all pointing weapons. It was a dangerous situation for anyone to be in and though Ash had been a vampire for nearly sixteen years now, he was still just a fledgling, the experiments that had happened in captivity within New York had seen to that, he had the control of a vampire barely five to six months old.

The hunger rolled off of him and out of his body like a heated wave, hitting the ghouls that surrounded him including the young Lycan that had thrown the dagger and Ash had not even the slightest clue as to what he was doing, having utterly no control over his dark gift, having no idea that he had a gift at all. Suddenly everyone surrounding him was overcome by the same lust for blood; their companions blood.

It was the Lycan that struck first, the Lycan that had never thirsted for human blood in his entire life suddenly struck a ghoul, all but ripping him to shreds before he had hit the ground, lapping up every single drop of blood that he could get. Their screams rang out through the night as they turned on one another biting scratching, stabbing, shooting, anything they could think of that could possibly draw blood the sight was gruesome, morbid, it was as though they had turned into a bunch of raging cannibals, tearing each other apart.

Ash wasn’t even aware, his attention fixed upon the handsome young ghoul he had in his arms, his cigarette forgotten where it had long since fallen to the ground as he reached up with his free hand, his other arm locked tightly around the boy’s torso crushing his ribs as he stopped him from struggling even though he continued screaming. His fingers threaded into the boy’s blonde hair before he gripped the strands tightly, jerking his head to the side to expose his neck as he sank his teeth deep into the warm flesh until his fangs popped into that all important vein and the blood flowed freely and fast pass his lips and he gulped it down quickly sucking upon the boy’s neck forcefully as he groaned and pulled their bodies closer together for the warmth, draining him hungrily.
