Skyler groaned sleepily when he felt the shifting of the body next to him. The growing body of his would be enemy. Lately, she'd been little more than a petty nuisance than a real threat and he was grateful for small miracles. The grouching and bitching he could take less of, that was for certain. But he had found that he'd grown to actually enjoy the presence of Cheyenne Ryder and her three boys in his home. It made it feel more or less like a home than the bachelor pad it had been since Lillith had been gone.
Skyler awakened enough to roll his eyes at his sleepy partner's growling order. He tried to tell himself that he did the little things for her because she was carrying his offspring, that he didn't care one whit about the woman herself. But, deep down he knew that was a lie.
He pushed himself into a sitting position and leaned forward, hands on either side of his thighs while he hoisted himself to his feet. He needed to get up and go to work anyway, but he gave a put out sigh while he adjusted the curtains on the window so the sun didn't spill across her cheek and eyes. "Better?" he snarked as he wandered into the bathroom for his morning piss.
