The full moon tugged at her senses, teasing her, tantalizing her. She was a born wolf, and old enough, by now, with enough experience with the change that she was not forced into it, but every lycan felt the pull of the moon. She was a little on edge, as were, she would guess, all the other lycans in town, or, at least, most of them. Maybe she would drag Skyler out into the desert and play with him out there. She wanted to fight and run and have sex, and obviously, Skyler was the only person she would choose to do one of those things with.
She couldn't focus, and her boss, Annabelle, knew that. She'd given her the day off, which was very nice of her. Roxie still felt bad about how the store had been trashed, but she and Felix had put it right again, and her boss seemed to have forgiven her. She was too restless to work, so she paced the streets. There was always a predatory sort of grace to her movements, but it was very pronounced right now, spurred on by the full moon.
It wasn't that she was going anywhere, she wasn't. She just couldn't sit still. She'd considered going to Skyler's work and pouncing him, but, well, he was at work and therefore had things to do. So she settled for whispering dirty things in his mind. She could have gone back to the suite she shared with him, but she would go crazy, so she walked and distracted her mate while he tried to work.
Ahead of her, though, something caught her eye - a silvery glint, something falling to the ground. A blond boy, lycan, some sort of cat, was walking away, and she was pretty sure he had dropped it. Darting forward, she scooped up the item, which proved to be a set of keys, and then walked after him, tapping him on the shoulder. "Excuse me, are these keys yours?" she asked, trying not to wrinkle up her nose. He was a cougar, and wolves and cougars tended to stay away from each other in the wild. This close to the full moon, it was harder to ignore the animal side of things.
