"Ah, fine," he waved her off with a laugh, "Can't blame a guy for tryin'."
He shot the elder wolf a reproachful look when she turned the question around on him, actually finishing his mouthful of sandwich before he answered this time.
"You kiddin'?" Harvey said, "I ain't never gonna be old enough to settle. Ain't my style, you know that. I mean, think about who yer talkin' to, Cora - would you trust me to raise a pup?"
Harvey grinned and raised his eyebrows pointedly, finishing off the last of his sandwich but not moving from his seat. He was a hard man to get rid of. Usually all he talked about were the games, or scoring, or drinking. It was nice to talk about other stuff occasionally, just like it was nice to eat something other than deep-fried take-away food.
