They'd all been working so hard lately. Malakai was doing extra shows, fund raising for the library, Felix had been helping Tristan with the print shop and the collection of books they had non stop, when he wasn't printing, he was categorizing books, sorting them, and boxing them up to eventually be moved, to the point where he forgot if he even had an actual shift, or what it was, because he was just helping Tristan all the time and the money he got for it was mainly so that he could eat. And everyone in Vegas had been helping to clean up after the lycan attacks, which had slowed progress on the library a bit.
It ended up that while Felix was around Tristan quite a lot, they didn't get a ton of time to actually talk to each other, and he'd barely seen Malakai except for the passing kiss and agreement that they would find time for a date. Felix wasn't big on work. He'd never been a workaholic or anything of the sort, he worked to live but that was it, and yet, he really enjoyed his work at the press, and he really enjoyed helping Tristan, so he barely thought about it.
But he had needed to get clothing, especially if they were going to all make time for a date, and so around ten, he'd told Tristan that when he got the chance, he should wash up and get dressed, and they would go for lunch, at least stop out for an hour in one of the hotel restaurants and let Tristan have a bloodwine while Felix ate. Mind you, he probably should have gotten Tristan's attention before he said that, because the man was extremely involved in fixing the damn press, which had broken down again, and was the reason Felix had decided it was a good time to go get clothing.
When he came back, he wasn't even surprised, mostly amused, to find Tristan still working, though making progress, it seemed, on the jammed machine. He set his new clothing carefully away from the ink and went down on the ground with him, leaning over to whisper in his ear. "You're going to be the first vampire to ever give himself a hernia, you know, and vampires can't even get those, I don't think. You need to take a day off." He kissed Tristan on the cheek, then, and then blinked when he heard a knock on the door and got up, his eyes increasingly more excited when he smelled Malakai.
