Midori stared across the table in almost as much disbelief, less offended by his criticism of her work than his crumbling of the page. She could have at least used the back. Of course the writing wasn't something she'd consider good enough to turn in, but he was hardly a professor and hadn't made his expectations all that clear to start demanding so much now. Five paragraphs... A full essay about animals seemed an excessive waste of time, had nothing to do with her term paper with its due date looming overhead, and with as little free time she actually got these days it seemed pointless to waste it. Even a nap would be more productive.
Yet Anubis had lectured her about this, her willingness to give up too easily, and Midori hadn't exactly disagreed with that truth so much as it actually being a problem. Trying to prove that dog wrong was why she remained seated instead of bolting away, pressing her pen back to the paper and giving another attempt at writing. She definitely wasn't going to write about dogs, talking ones or otherwise. Jotting down everything she knew about sheep, including how to properly dissect one, Midori finally passed it back over with a defensive pout.
