"I'm sure you were." He was entirely unconvinced that what she was telling him had any truth. People didn't become like she was overnight. Perhaps he played a part in bringing out the worst of her, but he wouldn't assume the responsibility for that. What she had told him came with plenty of other conclusions, but he wasn't going to think on it more than he had to either. It seemed safer to just cut off the conversation there.
Without giving her a proper 'you're welcome', he shrugged and turned from her. Rather than give her any more attention, he went to finish his own tea and rinse out her cup. He decided it was probably best to leave her to cleaning the rest of herself before she got more distracted.
