There was no hesitation in accepting her offer to keep his hands on her wrists. He didn't hold on to them tightly, but he did hold on well enough to let her know he would be pulling her away if something went wrong. Thankfully, most of it didn't hurt too badly as much as it just felt strange to him. In fact in the actual socket he didn't seem to be feeling much at all. It was an area of his face he wasn't used to being touched considering there was usually an eye there. All of the pain was centered around the opening.
However, she was seemingly being careful enough not to do much more damage than she had already done. He wasn't thankful and this time he was ready for it to turn at any minute. For the most part, though, it did seem a relief to have the caked up blood removed. The way he had originally bandaged himself had been far from comfortable. Granted, he had done it in an crap-I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-doing sort of hurry that night and he really hadn't wanted to mess with it since then.
So, yes, the cleaning was nice until the sudden bitter pain of the antiseptic. Even with her warning he wasn't really prepared for it. "I thought you said it might sting, not burn! What are you even doing?!" He complained, not flinching, but tightening his grip around the wrist of the hand she wasn't cleaning with. While he was doing his best to be patient, he could only think that if she was hurting him more without really knowing what she was doing, he really was going to kill her. Though until he could be sure of anything, he bit on his lip and waited for it to be over. As his focus was there, he hardly paid much mind to her stroking his face.
