"The best way of dealing with it," she began solemnly, but instead of immediately completing the thought she played a few notes to confirm that the instrument was in tune and to confirm to Michel that she hadn't forgotten how to do so over the span of a couple days. Remembering the location of the different strings and their notes was easy enough, and she was clearly more comfortable with handling the instrument than she was their first few lessons. Her previous experience with playing harp had at least made it easier for her to catch on, and reading the sheet music was no problem at all.
"Is not to deal with it at all. Usually works for me," she finally recommended without glancing up from the instrument after tuning, although he was perfect evidence that her method of ignoring problems until they went away wasn't flawless. "If you don't want me talking to him, stop letting it upset you, and he'll probably leave me alone. You should know what he's doing, yet you make it far too easy. Unless that's the kind of attention you crave from him. Then carry on."
