Don't get me wrong, I'm actually genuinely excited for my first Halloween in the States (or the Goodland equivalent of the States because hey, New Yorkish?). You lot go way harder than we do.

But ALSO...Bonfire Night? I know I'm not the only one from home around here. Anyone interested in basically just burning things and eating junk food and having some drinks?

Fireworks may be harder to get a hold of, haven't really looked into it yet but apparently around here it's only your Fourth and the New Years Eve parties. Soooo we'll work on that, probably, unless maybe some of you magic doing people want to lend a girl a hand!

Well, new-but-not-new arrival, I'm glad you asked!

It's mostly a UK thing but it's sort of branched out, probably based on immigration. It started a few hundred years ago when this total loser/literal hero (depending on your side of the political spectrum) named Guy Fawkes was caught defending explosives placed under the House of Lords which were supposed to take out James the First. So basically now we just hold a huge bonfire and usually some fireworks and burn an effigy of the current political figure we hate or just a general little body so everyone can pretend it's whoever. And snacks and drinks. Obviously.
