In High Garden we spent months working on our costumes for the Harvest Moon celebration, I fear this realm's 'Halloween' has snuck up on me and I am ill-prepared.

What purpose do the costumes serve?

Have you not ever wanted to be someone or something else? It serves no other purpose than fun, Charles.

Other than simply not be myself? No, I had not ever considered it. Generally, that is left to the actors.

You should not disparage yourself.

This settles it then. You may accompany me to purchase a costume and we will find one for you as well.

I should not, but I am afraid it is fated to be that way.

The honour would be mine, though I've no idea what would be acceptable as a costume.

I am going to have to remedy this.

How very lucky for you that you have me to choose for you.

My lady, I assure you that you have made a dramatic difference.

Grand.

You give me far too much credit, my lord.

Does this mean you will accompany me on Saturday about the city for the festivities, as well?

Only where it is due, my Queen.

If you'll have me, absolutely.

It pleases me greatly that I have brought you some peace.

Even if you if think incredibly ridiculous notions.

It means a great deal to me.

Got to mind my manners in the presence of greatness, my lady.

It does to me as well.

Charles Brandon, I think we have moved beyond the need for such flattery.

Might I thank the salve to my ails today with an outing for lunch?

Never.

Given the fact that you asked so nicely, how could I refuse such an offer?

You are very determined.

I'd hope not, of course. I do look forward to any chance I am afforded to spend time with you.

Does the flattery irk you, my Lady?

Have I not already made it abundantly clear that you may have as much time as you desire?

Not in the slightest.

Good.

Then we are in agreement.

Would you like to join us for breakfast before our outing? It is becoming a sort of tradition in our home.

It helps to have that option if you're running short on time. And if you're unable to be extremely detailed when it comes to sewing, like me.

Of course, I'm happy to help. I do! I know some basics, but it's been a while since I've done any sewing.

It was a great masquerade ball. The preparations begin months ahead of the Harvest Moon. It has been quite some time since I attended one.

I've never been to a masquerade ball, not in the traditional sense, but they've always sounded interesting when I'd read about them growing up. It must have been a pretty spectacular event with that much planning.
