You told me about your past so it is only fair I divulge mine. Forgive me for taking the cowardly approach, but I don’t want to see the look of disgust it is easier for me to write my thoughts than speak them.

I’m from a wealthy, pureblood family. We are considered purebloods because our entire family is magical. My family always looked down on those without magic and those known as half-bloods or muggle-borns. Half-bloods have one magical parent. Muggle-borns are those born to non-magical parents. I was raised to think we were better because we were wealthy and pure.

My family worshiped a wizard called Voldemort. He wanted to expunge those who were not pure. His followers were known as Death Eaters. I wanted nothing more than to join their ranks like my father before me. However, once I was marked as a follower, I quickly learned I could not do what they wanted of me. Namely, I did not have the stomach to murder. Still, I did other awful things that led to people losing their lives or getting tortured even though I never committed the final act.

I was a bully as a child and I was daft. I regret it all, but regret doesn’t negate my actions. You should know who I am. I am trying to do better.
