[Steve Rogers]

Hey Captain Cutie,

I'm in desperate need of getting the hell out of the house for a while. You busy?

The non-answer is a pretty good answer, I'd say.

If it's more the second one... Steve, you are so worthy of love. You are so worth the effort of a relationship. Hell, we're just friends and I would chase after you all day long if I had to and it has nothing to do with the packaging and everything to do with the person you in your heart and at your core.

And if it's more the third... I mean, I don't know what to say. Is this someone you are in a relationship with back in the real world?

Thank you, Darcy. That's nice of you to say.

We never really got the chance for that.

It's just the truth. You are a wonderful person and I count myself as being so lucky to be able to call you a friend.

I'm sorry that you didn't. They must have been a very special person and I wish you'd had the chance to explore a relationship with them.

I'm pretty lucky to have you as a friend, too.

She was.

Do you want to talk about her?

Peggy.

There's not a lot to say, really.

Tell me about her. What's something you liked about her?

She was She was just really beautiful.

I'm sure that's not what you liked most about her, though.

Maybe not.

But there are some things just meant to stay between two people, you know?

Message received. I won't push.

Maybe this is a good thing though, Steve. Being stuck in the past... that's not going to help you in the long run. Not really. And it might even end up hurting you.

I don't think I'm stuck in the past.

You didn't say you weren't hung up on Peggy. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who you mean, Steve.

The past is a fine place to visit, but you can't live there. I'm not saying you should forget all about it, because that would be impossible. I'm just saying that maybe this crush on Diana is a good sign.

The past is a little different for me than most people.

I get what you're saying, Darcy. Doesn't mean I know what to do about it.

It is and I can't even begin to understand everything that you've gone through.

So let me repeat a question from earlier: What do you want to do about it?

No more than plenty of people. Hell of a lot better, actually.

That's the thing, though. I don't know. I just...I like her. Doesn't mean I need to do anything about it.

Your experience doesn't need to be compared to anyone else's. Trauma isn't a competition. You're allowed to feel what you feel about it. But if thinking of it in that way helps you, then go for it.

I feel so junior high right now... Do you like her, or do you like her like her?

No, I know it isn't. I don't want you getting the wrong idea, though. I'm doing fine.

So that's what that feeling is. I really don't know? I'm no good at this.

Okay good. I'm just reminding you. Sometimes people need to be reminded of things like that.

Honestly, I'm just guessing. This is like pulling teeth, jfc If I thought you would do it, I would say take her out on a date and figure things out.

They probably do.

How would I know she'd even be interested in that?

You ask her. "Hey, Diana... Would you like to go to dinner with me?"

You seem to be harbouring the idea that I have any idea how to go about any of this.

Okay, let's practice. Ask me out on a date.
