Rule of Horror #81: Always ask why the house is being sold so cheap.

I'd consider $200 rent falling into that category, which puts us potentially in the supernatural sub-genre, particularly the sub-sub-genre dealing with entities rather than creatures. Among the surprisingly short list of paranormal horror films set in New York City is Rosemary's Baby, Dark Water, and the Devil's Advocate, as well as Dario Argento's 1980 cult classic Inferno which, due to its connections to Suspiria and the not-really-a-twist ending, could also be considered paranormal.

So here are my questions: Has anyone checked the water tank and has anyone found any strange old books written in Italian yet?

He's alright. Most of the time he's a complete pain in my ass, but occasionally he gets to be the voice of reason. And he knows how I like my coffee. And he leaves the lights on when I crash at his place. So y'know, I keep him around.

Of all the dead bodies I've found, I've never found only half a one before. And I've definitely never been possessed, which seems like a statistical improbability when you consider the sheer number of creepy dolls I own or all of the ill-advised things I've done in cemeteries.

But when things change, they rarely change slowly. It all slams down at once, y'know? One day you're just strolling through life, minding your own business, and the next day everything goes ass-up.

He sounds like a good person to keep around.

It's not pretty.

That sounds about right.

Oh, by the way, I'm Stiles.

I don't imagine so.

I saw a dead pig once and I haven't been able to eat pork since, though. I mean, I've also seen nearly a dozen dead bodies, but that pig is what really sticks with me. I think it was the smell.

Heya, Stiles. I'm Audrey.

I don't think I ever want to see or smell a dead pig.

It's nice to virtually meet you, Audrey.

No, you really don't. It was gross.

You too, Stiles. And maybe we'll see if we can't meet non-virtually too one of these days.
