Has anyone seen a library here? I would like to go there tomorrow.

Yes. However, you might prefer a book store. If this place turns back into Manhattan while you've got the books checked out, you probably won't want deal with the late fees. Also, I don't think library cards work on a national or international level, but I'm sure you could get a card with your guardian when this place is back to its version of normal.

My guardian already got me a few books to read at home. I want to go spend the day reading in the library because there are so many more options there! You make a very good point about checking them out. I don't think I'll do that while I'm here.

Well, if you plan to hole up in a library, which is a good place to hole up, I think there's one just for children. The main library is at 219 Loyola Avenue while the children's one is at 913 Napoleon Avenue.

What sorts of books do you like reading?

Maybe I'll go to both! Thank you for your help.

Chapter books mostly. Ones with adventures and animals too.

You're welcome. I hope you enjoy your trips to the libraries.

Have you read any of the Bunnicula books?

No I haven't. What year was it published? I came here from 1975 so anything after that I have not read. I want to though! That's why I'm going to the library.

What's the internet?

An interconnected network system that connects devices to each other. It can be used for lots of things, including what you're doing by creating and sharing voice and text posts with others. From what I understand, the US government commissioned research into connecting computers, and, eventually, it grew from there.

Lots of names are interesting. Some even come with stories. And lots are chosen because someone liked the name.

That's very true. My adoptive parents gave me my name when I came to live with them and I named my cat Winkie because he winks.

I'm adopted, too. I've never had pets if you don't count my brother and sisters. That's a very good reason to name him Winkie. Does he like his name?

[she* for the cat. my bad]

That's good! I didn't have any until I met Winky at the orphanage before I came here. Mommy and daddy Malone passed away some time ago. Yes she does.

My parents are gone as well. But I'm glad your cat likes her name and that she's here with you.

I am staying with Dave and Klaus on the first floor. No, my brother is here with me too.

Ah, you're staying with one of my brothers, Klaus. I used to be in that apartment, but now I'm with my sister in a different one. Same floor, though. I'm glad you've got your brother with you. This place is easier with a familiar face around.

Thank you. At least neither of us is alone here. I know Dave is your guardian, but if you ever find yourself in need of a good reading partner, let me know. I, too, like reading.
