What's the weirdest thing you found? Wonderful!
[Audrey]
If we're here If this entity takes requests and not just whining, maybe it can happen.
I've never been bitten by a vampire, but there are certain acts that just can't not be intimate. And, to me, it seems like something that would require a lot of trust. The places I imagine a vampire to bite are vulnerable places. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't want someone I just met touching those places, especially with teeth. There are certain things I don't want to share, things I don't know that I can with just anyone. Add in an addictive high (which I did ask how addictive it is, thinking it probably is, but it seems you got confirmation on it actually being addictive?), and it seems like a recipe for some type of experience I wouldn't want to have with a stranger. And it isn't something I would want a stranger to have with people I care about.
I think the addictive nature is also concerning. How addictive is addictive? How hard is it to stop being fed upon? How risky is it? Do you get to a point where you could kill yourself with it from excessive bloodletting, all the while not caring because you're too high to notice? What are the general hygiene practices in situations like these, and how do they keep people from not becoming addicted? When you advertise it as a "great high," there are certain conclusions people may make, including the fact that it may be a high someone will chase for the rest of his or her life, or at least a very long time. Whether he means to or not, he's potentially setting up people to become addicts all so he can live when, upon asking, it is something he can consume without getting it directly from the source.
And, again, how safe is it really? Like you said, it's probably hard for a vampire to get tested, and what if he can transmit STDs from one person to another all because he fed on one of them on Monday and another on Thursday? What's the wound care like? If you're going to such lengths to keep your vampiric nature a secret, won't people notice bite wounds on the neck, or at least strange behavior around the same time every week/month from friends and family and loved ones? And anything involving blood exchange or bloodletting goes back to it being something that is intimate and would involve a lot of trust.
At least someone in my life occasionally listens to logic.
Also, I've come to realize I don't know what would be considered appropriate "party snacks" in the present. I assume not everyone wants eel or snails at a party unless it's a themed party. The Romans may have known how to throw a good party, but I think their food choices may leave something to be desired from most modern people.
