After two months we're averaging about two arrivals a day.
I've been made to sit through had a few conversations when I was younger about how people tend to handle trauma being in rough situations and the thing I always thought was interesting was that most people are actually semi-okay while they're still in danger. It's only later when they start realising that things have changed, sometimes months or even years later when they think everything's in the past and dealt with, that they really start to catch up and freak out - which I imagine could be a little confusing for everyone involved. The brain is a very strange thing sometimes. I think it gets upset when it doesn't know what to expect and all the rules it's used to playing by don't apply anymore.
