So, as it turns out? I still can't tan.

I was able to track down the original curse ritual. There are some ingredients needed that I wasn't able to find, but you may have a source I don't. Nothing else came up about vampires with souls without the spell.

	Personal experience with that? [Emma] She allows you to have some form of access to that side of yourself? What would be involved in changing things for you -- magic or a spell? You don't need to be specific. As someone who's lived with a curse nearly half his unlife, I'm not very familiar with them outside of my own and with basic magics. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Basically. She can express the affection I don't currently have all my access to.

I'd need to curse someone else. And then destroy them. So a little of all of the above, with some murder thrown in. This Darkness needs somewhere to go, it needs someone to inhabit. I'd have to give it a new host for it to leave, and then I'd need to stop it hurting someone else.

	I've had my own set of volatile relationships, both long and short, so I can relate to that. [Emma] That's kind of nice in an odd sort of way. Ah. Very odd, rather unexpected, but not wholly unwelcome.

Precisely. It grew from hate and vengeance, festering inside it's host and growing more and more powerful. Nimue rarely shares anything of note, but her desire for power and revenge spawned it from pure magic. Given the volatile nature of the curse, it's not even a surety that I'd survive breaking it right now.

He's still locked down tight, but after what happened with the mirrors, I've been researching to find out if it's possible to keep my soul but without the trigger causing me to lose it. 	Sort of. The idea would be to alter the spell so that it still grants the soul but removes part of the curse. In a sense, the curse has two parts. One is the soul itself, but the second involves the lack of true happiness. If there's a moment of true happiness, the soul disappears. It's the true happiness clause that needs to be removed. When it happened a couple years ago back home, it was accidental. I wasn't aware of the clause at the time until it was too late. And yeah, I've been talking to a witch who is a friend. I have access to the original spell, and she's going to take a look to see if it's possible.

There's one thing that I'm not thrilled about. In order for her to work her idea, I'd need to have it removed so she can re-ensoul me without the clause.

Who doesn't like being cursed with something and not knowing all the details? That sounds promising though, at least to an extent.

Ah, so it's a bit like switching it off and back on again. Only switching it off means the potential of carnage and chaos unleashed. Do you need a location to do this? If it's possible. I do have a cave, it's expanded and warded. Held a rather annoying demigoddess with an identity issue in it for a while.

	The coven who originated the spell wasn't too forthcoming with their details. Exactly. He'll take a mile if given an inch, and my worry is that he'll find a way to get out and unleash. I guess I can see their point, but I'm not sure there's a logical reason putting a loophole like that into a curse.

And then he's either slaughtering people you love, and you need to live with it afterwards or... well, someone is killing you. Which sounds like something to leave off the table.

I'm immortal, aloof and magic. I don't mind buying your friends enough time to fix it up. Especially if it means no one is worried about guilt and trauma afterwards.

	Once I did know the loophole? It ensured I focused on being miserable for the rest of my life. Effective vengeance. Yeah, I'd like to select none of the above if I can help it. But if it came to it?
