Last time Thor turned up I completely forgot to warn him I was from a different universe. Eventually he gave up and just straight asked if I'd always been a doctor and he just didn't notice, which was awkward at the time but kind of hilarious in retrospect. The point is there's about half a dozen different universes that all overlap and most of them are pretty similar (and basically seem to hinge on whether or not mutants exist, for some reason). Then there's James', which I'm sure you've heard about, and mine.

You might have started to realise that I can be a massive asshole. Probably not enough that you're not having some kind of kneejerk "that's not true" reaction right now, but there's an inkling there. I am moody and withdrawn and selfish. If you try to make me talk about my feelings I will deflect, and if that doesn't work I go on the attack. I have trust issues and probably some kind of post traumatic whatever. When I first turned up I just assumed everyone was faking being sickeningly nice, so that's two years of progress for you.

Anyway, a couple of months after we got here I wrote a sort of explanation of where I was coming from and, you know, why I'm like this, and I dug it out to avoid another "so have you been a doctor all along?" conversation.
