Hermione nodded because it was all she could do. Admittedly, it was a lot to keep up with who was who. She already know who most of the people were that appeared there, but the ones from later, it was still a lot to process. Still she could see a lot of their parents and herself in Hugo’s case, looking back at her. The War has been hard, rebuilding just as hard, but it all has been worth it. That fact quelled a lot of uncertainty in her heart.
Hermione had to laugh because there were a lot of days Harry has sworn up and down how much he hated their rivals, Slytherins. Yet, she was sure the times had chanced his views on the House. The War has opened a lot of their eyes on their narrow minded views they held as children. “From what I met of you, I am sure you managed to accomplish all of the aforementioned.” She offered Lily a smile of reassurance.
For a long moment, Hermione sipped her tea in silence. “I have been here nearly six months so... I guess it has been almost a year. I turned nineteen here... back home, it had been a few months.” Four to be exact. Sometimes those four months felt like years and others just days. The funerals and mourning had felt like a rain cloud that had followed them around for a while. Rebuilding had given them all something to do. Hogwarts has suffered so much damage and blood spill it had broken her heart. When she has woken up that morning expecting to head to Kingscross (only to find herself in Goodland) she had wondered if she could do it. Part of her had always known Harry and Ron wouldn’t go back. Not because they felt they out grew school, which was probably true, but Hogwarts harbored a lot of painful memories for them all. Hermione wasn’t sure she could walk into the Great Hall without crying. Nearly an entire school worth of children would know that year what the thestrals really looked like.
“I am okay,” she told Lily as she pushed those thoughts from her mind. Worrying was not going to help their situation. “I get along well enough and the library keeps me busy.” Still a lot of days she wished Harry and Ron were there.
