This wasn't right. This didn't feel right. One minute he was in the cabin with Bonnie and the next...everything went black. The sounds of laughter and people talking woke him up. Enzo quickly sat up and looked around. He wasn't in the cabin anymore. Hell, he was pretty sure he wasn't even in the state of Virginia anymore. None of that mattered, though. Finding Bonnie was all that mattered. Was she here somewhere in the park as well? He needed to find her. He was just about to get up when the letter seemed to come out of nowhere and land on his lap. He quickly read it over and muttered under his breath. He so did not need this right now. First, he needed to see if Bonnie was here as well. And then he could figure this whole thing after.

After a quick look around the park, and no sign of Bonnie, he made his way to the apartment building that had been mentioned in the letter. If Bonnie were here, she'd make her way to the apartment too, right? He hoped so or he was going to have to look throughout the whole mock up of New York for her.

Seeing the ostriches in the lobby had been weird, but he didn't let his guard down. Who knew what could be waiting upstairs. Could it be Bonnie? Could it be something horrible? He had no idea. But he'd be ready for whatever it was.

He made his way to the apartment and listened for a moment. He hadn't heard anything which meant nobody was inside. Still, he cautiously opened the door and stepped in. Like he had suspected, nobody was there. He closed the door behind himself and started to look around the apartment. When he heard footsteps outside of the door, that's when he stopped with the small tour and put all of his attention on who might be coming through the front door. Friend or foe? He was just about to find out.

It had been two months since Bonnie had said goodbye to Mystic Falls, and began traveling the world. She wasn't sure when she would return. Virginia was home to so many painful memories. Bonnie had promised Enzo that she would live her life to the fullest- that she would live it for herself for once- and if she were to go back now? Well, she was afraid she would grasp at unreachable straws. That wasn't to say that she didn't carry the love of her life with her wherever she went. She had even returned to Paris, and it was beautiful in the winter.

Bonnie had fallen asleep in one of Enzo's shirts, surrounded by plush pillows, and awoken on what appeared to be a bus stop bench. She immediately sprung to her feet and looked around in a panic. "What the hell," she asked herself- searching for her phone and coming up empty-handed. Traveling in her sleep shouldn't have been possible; she was nowhere near this powerful, even though she had become pretty confident with her spells.

It took her a few moments to register that she was in New York or something that resembled New York. She wasn't sure, but when the letter floated down into her hands, it became clear. Right. Not New York. Another dimension? Had something happened back home? Were her friends her? Were they okay? All of these thoughts were playing on a loop in her mind as she passed the Ostriches and made her way to the apartment.

Bonnie put all of her defenses up, ready engulf whatever was waiting for her behind the door in flames if she had to. With a wave of her hand, the door flew open, slamming against the opposite wall. Nothing could have prepared her for what she saw.

"Enzo?" Her first instinct was to run to him, but a more realistic voice in the back of her head was screaming. This wasn't real. It couldn't be. He died. He's gone, Bonnie. This isn't real. But he felt real. It wasn't like when she had seen him before; his energy felt different. It felt alive, and she desperately tried not to panic.

It felt like a million bricks were crushing her heart, and when her hand raised again, it was shaking. "What is this," she demanded- her voice full of anger that she hadn't felt for quite some time. "If this is some sick joke, I assure you it's not a game you want to play with me."

"Bonnie." Thank god she was here and not left behind. He started to walk towards her but then stopped. The tone in her voice had been concerning and she had raised her hand up, which meant she'd throw him out of a window if she felt the need to.

Enzo put his hands up, showing her that he wasn't going to try anything. Not that he ever would. "I don't know," he replied calmly. He wished he had the answers, but he didn't. He was as confused as she was. The only difference was that he was trying not to lose his cool over this and she looked like she was ready to fight anyone who took a step towards her or looked t her the wrong way. "I didn't have anything to do with this." Why she seemed to think that, he had no idea. It just made him even more confused. "I'm not playing any kind of sick game with you. I never would," he told her as he took a step forward, hands still up. "I woke up in the park. Got a letter welcoming me to this place. But before that, I was with you." He took another step forward. He knew he was pushing his luck, but he didn't care. "I promise you that it's really me."

Bonnie's entire body tensed up. Oh, she hated this. Enzo's voice was like music to her ears, she never thought she would ever hear it again- not like this- and she cursed the tears that blurred her vision. How was any of this happening? Why was any of this happening? Was she dead? Was this her afterlife? Location aside, it was certainly the one she would choose, but she would know if she had died. She had done it before.

Her hand remained raised as he walked closer, but the anger had left her voice, replaced with panic. "You were with me? Where?"

Okay, this was good, they were making progress. Bonnie didn't sound as angry anymore. But Enzo still needed to be ready for an attack since her hand was still up and pointing his way. "Yes," he said with a small nod of his head. "In the cabin," he told her. "You were just cured of the huntress curse and then I woke up here." He hoped she remembered that since he had no idea how this place worked.

"Oh, god." The cabin. Their cabin, that she had burned to the ground. He didn't know, he hadn't lived through it yet. He hadn't died. How was it possible for them to be from two completely different places in time? She still wasn't convinced that this was real. Maybe it was a dream? Maybe she was still sleeping, and if she was...

Swallowing hard, she tentatively stepped forward to reach out and touch his cheek- gasping when she made contact. "How is this happening?"

That hadn't been the reaction he thought he would be getting. He titled his head a bit, confusion clearly written on his face. She knew something that he didn't know. And he would get it out of her, but right now he was letting Bonnie take lead.

He finally let his hands drop, no longer needing to show Bonnie that he wasn't going to try anything. She was the one in control of this right now. He didn't move. He let her come closer. But when she touched his cheek, he couldn't help but grab a hold of her hand. "A magical being with too much time on their hands?" That was his guess, but he had a feeling she was talking about something else. "But you're talking about something else, aren't you?"

The last of Bonnie's restraint slipped away when he grabbed her hand. Letting go of the sob that had been wanting to escape since she laid eyes on his, she threw herself into his arms and held onto him tightly. "I never thought I would see you again, not like this." Bonnie refused to let him go, just in case. She was terrified he would disappear.

"But you knew. You told me I would, but I didn't think..." She trailed off then. How was she supposed to tell them that he had died? That she had spent months without him? That it had been agony, but she had kept her promise.

Enzo wrapped his arms around Bonnie and just held her close and tight. "I'm here now," he told her before giving her a kiss on top of her head. "You can't get rid of me that easily."

He was confused again by her words. It was apparent that something happened and he had no idea what that something was. He wanted to know. But he also didn't want to push. "What did I know?" he asked. "What did I tell you?" He wanted to be on the same page as Bonnie and getting her to share would do just that. "Maybe we should sit down. You can tell me everything that is going through your mind right now."

God, it felt so good to be back in his arms. She tried to just breathe him in and focus on him. There were too many 'what ifs,' and is she lost herself in them, she would miss out on what was right in front of her.

Nodding, she slipped her hands down his arms to tangling her fingers with his and moved over to the couch. "I don't know how this is happening, or why, but if the last thing you remember is being in the cabin?" Her chest rose and fell with a heavy breath, and she wiped at her tear-stained cheeks. It had been a while since she reflected on their last weeks together. "Whatever pulled us here, didn't pull us from the same time. You...you haven't lived through what I have yet, and I know that because I was cured of the huntress curse months ago."

Closing her eyes, Bonnie went back to the wedding, when he had made her realize she still had access to magic. The flames surrounding herself and the twins. "'I believe we'll be together again. When I see you again, there will be only peace, and no one will ever part us.' That's what you told me. That's what you knew." Is this what that was? Is this how they got their peace together?

With his fingers intangled with Bonnie's, he followed her over the couch and sat down. He never let go of her hand. Whatever she knew, he knew it wasn't going to something easy or light. But he needed to know what she knew. "Months ago?" That couldn't be right, could it? It sounded crazy, but so did waking up in some weird place called Goodland. It still sounded messed up, though. "How is that even possible?" It was a stupid question, sure, but it was a question that popped into his head.

He squeezed her hand when she closed her eyes. He was there for her. He wasn't going anywhere. Not unless whatever brought them there sent him back. "Do you think I was talking about this place?" Stranger things had happened to the both of them. So it wasn't that far fetched to think that maybe his future self knew about this place.

"I don't know. At first, I thought I did this, but I'm nowhere near this powerful." Bonnie had created a psychic world where Enzo had existed for a while after he died, but this? Well, this was way out of her league. Long gone were the thoughts that this was just a dream, or some cruel joke, however, because even if she didn't know the how or why? She definitely knew that he was real.

"I don't know," she said again, quietly. "Maybe you were. Maybe you somehow knew." Shaking her head, she took another deep breath. "There's more." Letting go of his hands, she shifted to lay her head on his shoulder. Bonnie was so happy to be here with him, happier than she had been in months, but he still didn't know what happened, and she didn't know how to tell him.

"You thought you did this?" The thought hadn't crossed his mind especially since he had read that mysterious letter that seemed to appear out of nowhere. Which made him wonder. "Didn't you receive a letter?"

Most people would think that she was talking crazy. But after all they've been through and ending up here, it sounded plausible. His future self could have known about this place and wanted to mention it to Bonnie. It sounded like something he would want to do. "What else?" he asked, placing a hand on her thigh since she had let go of his hand.

"I got the letter, a few moments after I woke up on a bus stop bench, but it was long enough for me to run every scenario in my head before reading it."

Bonnie wrapped her arms around his waist, bracing herself for the next part. It was best just to rip the bandaid off right? "The cabin is gone. I burned it to the ground with myself inside, trying to get you to turn your humanity back on. It worked, and we were happy Enzo. We were so happy," her eyes began to well up with tears once more, but she didn't stop. "You gave me this," she murmured touching the necklace that contained his blood, that she still wore. "We made plans. Plans for our future. You were going to take the cure. We were going to live our lives together but then..."

"Stefan...he ripped your heart out right in front of me." Bonnie held onto Enzo tighter, almost to reassure herself that he was there with her.

Now he knew why he couldn't find Bonnie. She had woken up at a bus stop. Strange. Then again, this whole thing was strange. "I didn't let it sink in. I knew I had to find you. That was all that mattered at that point in time." Even though he hadn't been too sure if she had been taken as well at that point in time.

He knew whatever was coming next would be big. The way she drew herself to him as close as she possibly could and the uptick in her heartbeat told him a lot already.

What she said, though, already had him thinking of a hundred different questions, but the thing that really got him was hearing that Stefan had once again ripped out his heart. He really hated that guy. "I have so many questions about everything you just said, but right now I can only focus on the fact that Stefan killed me...again. Why?" He really wanted to know what he did this time to have Stefan kill him for a second time. And right in front of Bonnie. That really pissed him off. Bonnie didn't deserve to see that.

Bonnie could hear her heart beating faster at his words. "I'm sorry I almost set you on fire. I had no idea you would be here." How could she? Enzo was dead in her time. "If I had, I would have torn this place apart looking for you."

She knew he would have questions. The details had escaped her; she was just trying to get it all out at once without having to relive some of the worst days of her life. "The devil was in town — the literal devil. Stefan had made a deal with him to save Caroline and Ric's children. His humanity was off, and he was full-on ripper again. Stefan was coming for Elena. We were in the safe house I bought to keep Elena in, and when he changed the ownership of the house, you were pulled out of my arms. I couldn't invite you back in, and then..." Images of Enzo's heart in Stefan's hand flashed before her eyes. "I couldn't stop him. He killed you right in front of me and came for me. He would have killed me too...but I had already gotten the cure for you. So I shoved it into his side. I made him human."

"It's okay," he told her. It really was. He understood. How was she to know that he would be here or that he was real and not some trick by whatever brought them to this place? "We're together now. Nothing else matters."

Enzo listened as Bonnie explained what happened. The whole thing sounded horrible. Even more so was the way he died. He did not want to go back to that. He also hoped Stefan never showed up here or he might kill him. "You didn't deserve any of that." He put his arm around her and held her close. It wasn't about him. It was about Bonnie. The way Stefan basically tortured her. "If I ever see him here, I'm going to kill him."

Bonnie nodded at his words. She wasn't sure she would try to stop him if Stefan ever did show up in this place, regardless of what point in time he came from. "You didn't deserve it either. We were supposed to be happy. He took that from us. I'll never forgive him, even after he died I couldn't." Bonnie ran her hand over his arm, then finally tilted her head to look up at him. "It's so good to see you again, really see you, and not just your spirit."

"We can be happy here," he told her. They might not know the full story behind this place, but they were both brought here, so why couldn't they have another chance at being happy? "He died?" At least karma seemed to bite Stefan in the ass in the end. That's how he saw it anyway. "Hopefully you don't get tired of me," he joked a little, trying to lighten the mood a bit. "Since it's been a while for you...what would you like to do?"

"What if it's only temporary?" Bonnie fully believed they could be happy anywhere as long as they were together, but she was afraid to hope. "Yeah. Died doing the right thing." That didn't absolve him in her mind, however.

Bonnie laughed a little and arched an eyebrow. "You should be thankful the Entity didn't ship me here with my guitar." Smiling, she reached to cup his cheek. "Let's just hide out here for a few days?" Just in case this was temporary, Bonnie wanted to be selfish. Checking to see if anyone else had been brought here could wait a few days.

Leaning up, she shifted so she could to press her lips to his.

"Then, we will just have to enjoy every single day that we have together." They couldn't control how long they would be here. And they shouldn't waste all of their time wondering when they might get sent back if they ever get sent back. "Of course he did..." He wasn't going to ask for details. He didn't really care.

"Oh?" he asked, eyebrow raised. "You haven't been practicing?" He reached up and placed his hand over hers. "We can do that." He was all for it. They basically hid at the cabin, they could do it here as well. At least for a little while. He leaned in more, kissing her back. "I love you."

Bonnie nodded, she knew Enzo was right, there wasn't any point wasting their second chance worried when or if they would be sent back. She would try, for him, not to linger on those thoughts, but she knew that would be easier said than done. "Every single day."

She laughed again and nudged him with her elbow. "Practicing without you around to remind me how horrible I am?" Bonnie smiled her first genuine smile since walking through the apartment door and rested her forehead against his. "I love you too."
