Who: Lincoln Campbell and Daisy Johnson
Where: Walking home from the wedding
When: Evening of the 23rd Nov
What: Emotes and second chances discussed
Status: On-going
Warnings: TBC

In his own world he hadn't lived to see Tony Stark marry Pepper Potts but Goodland seemed to always have surprises in store. Lincoln had agreed to go with Daisy to the wedding, as everyone in the block had been invited, and seeing the couple he'd read so much about in the press wed was a strange and beautiful thing.

Despite the glitz and glamour Daisy was still the most beautiful girl in the room and Lincoln was proud to be by her side. They'd eaten well and danced and by the time guests started to depart he was in a whimsical mood. He took Daisy's hand and suggested they walk back to the villa, wanting to savor the night and the feeling of peace and happiness they'd managed to capture together.

"Would you ever want to do that?" Lincoln asked softly as he slipped his arm around Daisy's waist.

As nice and normal as everything had been today, she was glad to be heading home with Lincoln by her side. "Do what?" she asked, looking over at him. "Get married?" That had been something she hadn't thought about. She never really had a reason to think about it. Lincoln had died back at home and it was always once thing after another with SHIElD, so there really was no room for dating or anything normal, really. "I don't know," she finally replied. Yeah, it wasn't the best answer in the world, but she really didn't know. "What about you?"

He gave a nod when she asked if he meant getting married and Lincoln was really curious about her answer. That Daisy didn't know was understandable. Neither of their lives until this point had been conducive to family life but now they were settled here, with a slew of second chances to take it made him wonder. "I'd never thought too much about it before," Lincoln admitted honestly. "I wasn't exactly in the best shape to go to that place with anyone before," he glanced at her and smiled. "Now, things are different," he said with a shrug. "Everything that's happened to us is starting to make me think maybe we shouldn't put stuff off," he said softly. If Daisy felt differently, he knew she'd tell him, and he didn't need the grand party with the guests and stuff to make a commitment to his girl.

"Things are different, but that doesn't mean we have to rush into everything either." She was barely able to get close to him again after the maze. She was no way near ready to jump into marriage. She liked what they had now. "Do we really need a piece of paper to prove how much we love each other?" That's all it was, right? And the big expensive party that put everyone in debt. Being at the wedding tonight didn't make her all of a sudden feel the need to get hitched herself. But it was something to think about later on in the future if they were still here. She reached down and grabbed ahold of her hand. "I like how things are between us now."

Lincoln wrapped his fingers around Daisy's hand and nodded happily. "There's no rush here," he told her gently, "just something, maybe, one day in the future to think about," he replied meeting her eyes. "You know how I feel about you and no piece of paper could come close to putting that into words," he said with a nod. "I guess we have a future here and that's not something I ever though I had - not with you or anyone," Lincoln explained the reason for his question. They were good. Really good. The maze might have fucked up so much, but it had brought them back to a place of togetherness and he wasn't in a rush to change that either. "Yeah, we're pretty fucking awesome, aren't we?" he said with a teasing smile. "Who wouldn't want to be us right now?"

"Good." Because she really didn't want them to rush into anything just because they thought they needed to. "I'd rather have it happen because it felt right." Rushing things never ended well. And she didn't want things between them to get sour just because they felt the need to hurry up and do everything. "Well, if we're still here in that future, I'm sure we'll do what we feel like doing then." And if that meant making it officially with a ring and everything, they would do that. "We are," she said with a huge grin on her face. "Umm, someone dumb." She leaned into him for a moment. "Okay, either you need to carry me the rest of the way home or these shoes have got to go." There had been far too much walking in those high heels and she was about done with them.

That sounded like a really good plan to him too. Although he wasn't naive enough to believe in perfect timing, he knew that he and Daisy were right together and that meant relishing every moment together rather than rushing through it. In response to Daisy's comment he started so sing under his breath, "the future's so bright, I gotta wear shades." Lincoln matched her grin and gave her a quick hug back, loving that they could just be now that all the crazy had passed.

"Here, gimme those," he said taking the offending shoes from Daisy and threading the straps through his belt so that she didn't have to hold them. "Now, are you getting a piggie-back home, or walking. I'm all for carrying you, girl," he teased, "though if you've eaten too much wedding cake, I can't promise we'll make it all the way home!"

When he started to sing under his breath, she looked at him and then started to laugh.

She really was over her shoes. She had stopped and taken them off. She'd walk barefoot the rest of the way if she had to. "Here you go," she said as she handed them over to him and then watched him strap the offending shoes to his belt. "Well! Since you said that, you're definitely carrying me the rest of the way home. Kneel down, piggy." She hiked up her dress a bit and then climbed onto Lincoln's back. "You better not drop me or there'll be hell to pay," she joked.

He knew he was going to end up Daisy's Uber tonight, one way or another, so he might as well kneel down and take it. Lincoln chuckled as he did so and told her, "you make sure you're not flashing the locals and I'll make sure you get home safe and sound," he said as he shuffled her into place. "Oh, there will be no dropping of the Johnson," he assured her, "cause my happy-rations are only just back to normal and I don't want to loose them over a piggy-back!" It was a good job he'd held out on his nightly work-out or he might not manage to get her home in one piece, but as it was he took great delight in setting off at a gentle jog.

"I'm not flashing anyone. My dress is long enough. We're all good." She held on. "That's a good thing or you will not end up with your trip at the end of this ride," she joked. "Yeah, you wouldn't want to have to sleep alone for a week. That would just be miserable." She held on a little tighter when he finally started to move once again. "I should've bitched about my shoes sooner. This is so much better than walking."

"Well you make sure you tuck that thing in all the right places," Lincoln told her smiling back at Daisy. "Are you telling me you have plans for me when we get home?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, "not that I'll complain, unless I pull something getting you back there," he told her, chuckling softly as he continued at a steady pace. "I've done enough sleeping alone to last me a lifetime. I'm all in for sharing now," he said giving Daisy's butt a squeeze. "You do realise that I know you're totally capable of giving me the same ride home, right?" Lincoln asked with a grin, "and one day there will definitely be payback. For now, enjoy the ride," he told her happily.

"Quiet you," she playfully said as she flicked his ear. "Maybe I do. And maybe I don't. I guess you'll just have to wait and see." She laughed. "Oh come on, I'm not that heavy." She held on as Lincoln walked down the sidewalk. She smiled at a passerby. "I am so not giving youa piggyback ride. I could just toss you down the street, though." She was joking, of course.

"Hey, ow!" he answered at the ear flick. "Nope, I will never hush and your ear-torture won't work on the likes of me, not now, not ever," Lincoln teased back, hoping he didn't have to prove himself too much on the torture front. "I do like it when you plan," he told Daisy happily, "and when you say maybe, you totally have plans," he grinned. "Hey, I would never intimate that you were fat. Particularly when I'm looking forward to getting you naked," Lincoln chuckled. The passer by didn't seem too impressed by their antics, but he was long past giving a shit what other people thought of them. "Err, I'd rather you save your powers for the actual bad-dudes of the world!" he said leaning back and kissing her. "As much as I like the way you make the earth move I'd much rather be on this end than the other," Lincoln turned the corner towards the villa and pointed. "Home is upon us!" He quickened the pace to a slow run that had to jolt from Daisy's position.

"Oh, won't it?" She smiled and flicked his ear again. She'd do both of them if she could, but she kind of had to hold on or risk falling and hitting the ground. No thank you. "Or it's a maybe," she told him, still smiling even if he couldn't see her. "Are you sure about that? Because I'm pretty sure you just called me fat." She knew that he didn't, but it was so much fun teasing him about possibly calling her fat. "Fine, fine, I won't use them on you." She sighed dramatically. "Oh thank god," she said once she saw the apartment building. "I don't think I can deal with your galloping or whatever you're doing right now for much longer."

"Is this going to be like Japanese water torture?" he asked as Daisy flicked his ear again. "You just keep it up until I go crazy? Well I hate to break it to you, sweetheart, I'm already pretty well out there," Lincoln said with a laugh, as if carrying his girlfriend down the street on his back wasn't proof enough of his state of mind. "It could be a maybe, but you're looking incredibly hot tonight and maybe I have a plan or two of my own," he told her with a grin. He could hear the smile in her voice as she teased him, and as much as she tried to pin the insult on him he wasn't going to take it for a second. "Nope, definitely didn't call you fat. If I were calling you fat I'd have said something along the lines of 'Jesus, Daisy, you and me need to hit the gym a little more because your ass is getting back-breaking!' and as I didn't say anything of the sort, you can assume your ass is perfect," Lincoln said laughing and giving said appendage a gentle squeeze. "See, totally perfect in every way," he told her.

He was a little grateful too that they were back at the apartment building, because as enthusiastic as his gallop had been, it had been hard work and he was becoming a sweaty mess. "Hey, I was getting you home blister-free and safe," Lincoln said as he switched up Daisy's position so that he was carrying her in his arms. "And now I'll carry you over the threshold of our new home," he said giving her a teasing kiss. "After which you can have your wicked way with me, because I probably don't have the energy to fight you off," he grinned and headed for the elevators.
