Vanya and Open

The wedding was lovely. The music, the decor, the food... everything was great, really, and Vanya was glad- in general- that she'd come. There hadn't been a whole lot of opportunities for her to get dressed up and spend time with her brothers and sister since arriving in Goodland, other than the teen party, so it was nice to do it. Even if she'd had to borrow a suit from Five to do it. And, thankfully, she'd been having a good time.

But eventually, the heat and the press of the crowd began to get to her. She could feel every sound in the space vibrating against her skin, like it was begging for her attention. As much as she was enjoying herself, it became a dangerous place for her to be, so she excused herself from the conversation she was having and, with a nod to Five, stepped outside into the chilly night air. A little space and some deep breathing exercises should do the trick. She hoped.

Vanya and Dave

Dave loved dressing up, and looking presentable. It had taken a little while to find the style that he liked, but he quite enjoyed the way he was looking. Which was great, because internally, Dave was still reeling. He had had several episodes of hallucinations, and uncharacteristic reactions to the noises that sometimes surround him. He’d thrown himself on the floor to avoid debris, thinking a bomb had gone off, when Klaus had accidentally knocked a bowl of the counter, and things just hadn’t been getting better. It honestly scared him, but he didn’t want to voice those concerns to Klaus, he knew that Klaus wasn’t doing as well as he liked to pretend either. Dave could shake it, he was certain, but he had to strong about it.

The music and the people were getting overwhelming, and Dave needed a cigarette more than he could express. He popped outside and lit one, far enough from the other people. Dave had felt a little alone and closed off in his own little world lately. But this place, the future, it was all strange and borrowed and it didn’t really feel like his. He thought that feeling would wear off eventually, but it hadn’t yet, and with all the new things that people had shown him, he wasn’t sure if it would now.

He turned and saw a woman in a suit not too far away. It was an odd choice for a wedding, Dave thought, but it was interesting. He waved for a moment in greeting before realizing it was Klaus’ sister. “Hello, Vanya.” He greeted softly.

Tony and Cisco

The lead up to the wedding had been a bit of anxiety for Cisco, but come the actual ceremony of course he was glad for his friend. He watched him marry the woman he loved, even danced with a couple friends. All in all he really had noting to worry about, it'd been a nice affair. He was standing off to the side for a moment though, he had to check in on the alert systems. He always would. No matter where they were he needed to make sure everything was up and running, after all he remembered Barry's wedding day events and didn't want a repeat at Tony's wedding after everything had gone so well. His friend deserved to relax, Cisco would maintain vigilance and send out the necessary alerts if need be. His eyes roamed over his tablet while his friends danced. He'd relax again after he made sure everything was okay, but only then. It was like he'd said. He was always connected.

At some point he'd need to make himself an alert watch or something smaller than a tablet that could respond to his voice like FRIDAY and Tony's other AI's. New project ideas noted away for later, he tucked the tablet into his jacket pocket on the inside and picked up a cone of fries he'd been staring at since they made their appearance at the food table.

"Still working?" Tony teased gently as he joined his friend near the food. He'd seen Cisco tuck the tablet away. Truthfully? He was glad his friend was keeping an eye on things. He never had to worry with Cisco around. It meant a lot to Tony, especially on his wedding day.

"Always." If an alert happened, he'd get out and send out a message to the appropriate heroes. "I can't help it. I don't want anything to go unnoticed. Especially today." A shrug as he closed his jacket pocket. He was there alone, he'd danced with some friends but he hadn't given himself enough time to try to find a date. Cisco gave a smile and ate a few more fries. "How does it feel, bring a married man?"

"Thanks," Tony replied. His expression was light, but his eyes showed how appreciative he felt that Cisco wanted the day to go well. "Fabulous," he admitted, feeling a little guilty confessing that to Cisco. He knew his friend was having a rough time in that department. "It feels like the family is complete. Mostly complete." The words slipped out and Tony quickly glanced away for a moment. "Anyway, enjoying the fries? Having fun? I saw you dancing with some people." He didn't even know them all, but Tony didn't care. They were all trapped there and he was happy to host a part celebrating his love for Pepper.

He nodded, this was what he did. It gave him a sense of purpose he might not have found otherwise. He didn't mind it at all. "I'm happy for you." and he was, he didn't hold it against Tony that his own romantic life was dismal at best. He wasn't really even thinking about it just then. He didn't constantly at least. Right then he was thinking about the fries in his hand and how if he had both hands free he could have two. He had also had a few drinks, not enough to be plastered but enough to be pleasently buzzed. "yeah, I am. Friends, and a new one. She seems nice." Cisco was trying to branch out more, but it was hard with anxiety. This was the longest he'd stayed at any Goodland event. Feel loved, Tony.

Pepper and Tony

This had been hands down the best night of Pepper’s life. There had been a lot of great ones, naturally, but Pepper had been so happy that her mouth hurt from smiling and she still felt like her heart might honestly explode from how full it was. She had made her rounds, talked to friends and guests and made sure all minor needs were met and that everyone was happy. She’d stopped off to talk to her bridesmaids, and thank them for the millionth time for helping everything come together the way they did.

Finally, she came to sit next to her husband at their table overlooking everything. Pepper kicked her heels off and leaned against him happily. She couldn’’t imagine a more perfect moment, as she watched all the people who had gathered to celebrate them. She felt like she was on air. She leaned up and pressed a kiss to Tony’s cheek with a smile. “So, Mr. Stark, which wedding was better? This one or the one back home?” She teased him, knowing that he was the only one of them with the memory of how things had gone at home (though knowing their luck, it had probably gotten interrupted by some intergalactic emergency).

Tony smiled as his wife (he'd never get over saying or thinking that term) joined him in taking in the moment. He'd been sitting there basking in the love of their friends and family. He chuckled when she asked about the wedding. "I remember it now, but it is...like a film almost," he admitted. "Sort of like it happened to someone else." He leaned over to brush his lips against her lips. "So, Mrs. Potts-Stark, this wedding is hands down the winner."

Pepper was glowing with the emotions and happiness of the night. She wasn't sure that anything would ever top this feeling, of being so surrounded by her friends, of finally becoming Tony's wife, of sharing it with their daughter and their other kids.

"Right answer," Pepper said with a playful wink, as she took a sip of champagne, and surveyed the people in attendance. There were still some notable people missing, but she couldn't have asked for more. "I couldn't have asked for a better wedding and a better husband."

Tony took her hand and held onto it. "This will last, won't it?" Maybe it was the alcohol. Maybe it was Pepper looking so beautiful. Maybe it was Tony feeling sentimental. Whatever it was? Tony desperately needed to hear everything would stay good.

Pepper squeezed his hand gently, hoping to reassure him. "I don't know," Pepper said in a teasing tone, a clear smile on her face. "In like... twenty years, I might want to have some sort of mock wedding vow renewal." She winked at him.

"Especially if it's going to be warm and beachy that week." But she tipped up, and kissed his cheek. "But I promise, there is the last time. This is forever, our little family is forever. If the entity knows anything, it knows that. It knows that too many people will rip it apart if it ruins this."

Tony hoped she was right. Hoping was dangerous; too many things told him not to wish for happiness, but he did anyway. Maybe that was the point of life? "Come one, Mrs. Potts, Stark," Tony replied, "Let's dance."
