"Getting you interested in literature has become something of a goal of mine," Markus said with a teasing smirk and already his mind was thinking of ways to illustrate their story. Carl had taught him how to envision art and now he was imaging a book filled with the moments they'd spent together. Oh, this was definitely going to happen, he thought with a secretive smile to himself, and he'd surprise Morgan with it.
He saw the flush of her cheeks and ran a soft hand through her hair, gently kissing her one last time before they took this day-dream to another level. Since meeting Morgan he'd felt more than he thought possible, of himself and for another person and as overwhelming as it was, Markus wouldn't change one second of it.
"Yes, you!" he said with a laugh as he urged her forward and watched as she started the bike. Markus had never thought it possible to enjoy this experience more vicariously than first-hand, but watching Morgan's excitement was everything and he knew this moment was one he'd cherish for the rest of his life. "He's not the only one," Markus said under his breath as he returned the squeeze. "Now," he took their twin helmets from the stash on the back, "safety first. I'm not taking you home broken," he said giving her nose a gentle kiss and helping her on with the helmet before fastening on his own. Markus slid into the saddle and helped Morgan on once more. "Hold on tight," he whispered as he kicked them free of the stand and began their inaugural journey. "Twice around the island and back home for supper?" Markus asked with a grin as he gunned the engine and let Moriarty set the pace.
