"How could I forget?" Markus answered, smiling as he cupped her cheek softly. This world was near-miraculous and everything in his programming defied that such a place could exist and yet, here he was with this incredible woman who seemed to feel as much for him as he did for her. Morgan being here for the highs and the lows made everything in Goodland better. Even the maze felt like a blessing, in a strange way, because it allowed him to face his demons head-on and talk to Morgan about them. When she mentioned his way with words he cocked his head and smiled, "perhaps I will write it down. Just for you," Markus said, already thinking about self-publishing a fairy-tale just for Morgan.
He could see the scientist in her eyes just thinking through the concept he'd shared with her and trying to figure out how it was possible. One day he'd explain it all to her - about North and about learning he could love. Even in his own world the emotion hadn't felt so real. Perhaps it was the heightened risk of loosing the people he cared for that drew them so close, but with Morgan the intimacy felt effortless. "And you have quite the way with kisses," Markus told her a little breathlessly as the clerk interrupted their kiss. Probably for the best, given they were in a public space.
"We did it, alright," Markus chuckled along with Morgan and watched as the clerk guided Moriarty from it's display stand to the garage doors behind the shop. He didn't let his hand leave Morgan's for a second as he watched with sparkling eyes as the clerk handed him the keys. "This definitely requires an inaugural adventure," Markus agreed and handed the key to Morgan. "You should start him, the first time," he said with a smile, wanting to see her expression as the bike burst to life.
