Cisco was sitting on a couch in George's place, once again looking down at his phone in concern. The night before had been amazing save for a little initial fear, he'd been easily distracted by learning potions and magical science of it all. He was actually quite skilled in it, if he'd been a real wizard chances were he'd have had a talent for potions. He still managed to make little things, as a result few streaks of magical blue colorant remained in his dark hair with a vibrancy that didn't make sense for a normal color job on dark hair in one go. It'd been magicked. He'd spent the entire night in the tent that'd been made for him, it felt a little better being in there than out in the open. Less scary. He was tempted to go right back inside.

Now though, Ellie was saying he ought to go see Barry. He was still afraid. He chewed at his lower lip as he poked at the phone, writing responses and trying to keep up. Maybe if he brought the wand with him he'd feel safer, but the stuff Barry said scared him down to the core. He didn't even seem to know who Cisco was and just a day before was watching him without a problem. Small brows furrowed in worry as he tried to decide what to do about it. He really wished he'd gotten to build that bow and arrow after all.

A moment later he disappeared right back into the tent. Nope, he wasn't quite ready to go visit yet. He hugged one of the many pillows inside and sat in a far corner of it on the floor.

Life in Goodland was both a blessing and a curse. The distractions were plenty, right up until the point he felt the urge to tell Fred something. That was when the curse came in. He wanted to share this with his brother and he couldn't. Fred wasn't here. No, just Sirius Black, James Potter, Hugo Weasley, and Scorpius Malfoy were here, all people his twin would have enjoyed talking with.

George jammed the knife into the jam jar and made a faint face. How long was he going to be stuck in this place? He wasn't entirely sure he was ready to go home yet. He saw the looks his family gave him. When they looked at him they saw the loss of Fred. Bloody Hell, he could barely stand to the Burrow long because it felt suffocating. This place? Was a damn holiday wrapped up in chaos. So he was just going to focus on the moment and try to ignore the void in his soul.

He slapped a Nutella covered slice of bread over the strawberry jam covered slice before picking the plates up. George made his way out to the tent and crouched down in the opening so he could look at Cisco.

"Oi, you need to eat. I made sandwiches and crisps. Not exactly a roast, but haven't really done that whole grocery shopping bit. Or found a job..." George shrugged as he set a plate down near Cisco before making himself comfortable in the tent. "I refrained form cutting the sandwich into dragon shapes," he teased lightly.

"Eat up, mate."

Cisco had forgotten about eating. He was mostly worried with what to do about Barry. Tony said he was sick, but Cisco wasn't sure that was it. He didn't have any other explanations so he'd accepted it but it was only a half convince. He'd closed his eyes as he curled into a pile of pillows. He liked them. It was like having his own space, and his mind could decompress a little at a time. He felt like it was too overloaded sometimes. Like his mind was out of control and he could barely keep up with his own thoughts. Barry had asked him to build a time machine, and when he'd looked at the bow and arrow stuff he wasn't sure why but he felt compelled to try to make one.

Barry had said no, but he still had this little voice that said yes. Make everything. He'd let his eyes close for a minute before a moment later his stream of concern was broken and a plate placed in front of him. "Dragons are cool though." He tried a little smile as he sat up again and looked down at it for a minute.

"Ellie says I should go see Barry." He didn't touch the food yet, the things Barry had said weighed on him as did his confusion. "Says he's not dangerous."

"Dragons are cool, I have an older brother that works with dragons. Pretty sure one of these family dinners Charlie is just gonna show up with a bunch of wee baby dragons in pajamas and pass them off as his kids just to get a rise out of mum," George remarked as he picked up half of his own sandwich. He took a large bite as he watched Cisco from the corner of his eyes. The issue with Barry was a weird one. Going bonkers wasn't exactly something he was used to dealing with, but as far as he could tell the bloke was just off his rocker.

"I think," he said after he swallowed a mouthful of his sandwich. "Barry isn't going to harm anyway. He is just spouting words." He pointed a finger at the plate in front of Cisco and then pointe at Cisco with a look that said 'eat or else.'

"Look, mate, I am not going to force you to see Barry, but he is your friend right? If you were spewing weird sentences I'd still hang out with you." George set the remainder of his half of the sandwich down so he could yank a hair tie off his wrist. He took a moment to yank his hair back into a messy ponytail, exposing the injury to the side of his face and ear from a nasty charm.

"You do what you want, no one is gonna think any less of you."

"Yeah? I'd like to see a real one." Cisco loved all this magic stuff. It was making him feel better, even if he was still a little scared. He hugged the pillow he'd been holding onto a little closer to himself and pulled his knees up to his chest to rest his chin on them.

Obviously Cisco wasn't used to it either. He was just a normal kid with no powers in sight as far as they could tell. He'd never dealt with anything like this. "Caitlin said that too.." He frowned thoughtfully as he looked down at one of the crisps as George called them and poked at it idly. Playing more with it than eating just yet.

"Yeah, he is." Finally at that look he did take a bite of the sandwich. Cisco wasn't overly picky when it came to food, George would find out. He didn't ask for much of anything actually. Not until the older wizard had broken through to him and got him interested in the magic. He'd devoured spells and potions. Easily as one might science itself.

"You would?" His brows furrowed again as he looked around the room idly for a moment at all the different things. Magic was something else. "Can you come with me?" He wasn't an overly confident kid, but he would try to see him. When George pulled his hair back and exposed his injury, Cisco couldn't help but notice. "What happened?" He pointed to it as he finally began to eat a little more without prompting this time. Sweets were clearly a hit with him. No need for fancy food.

"I would, spewing nonsense doesn't change you," he said without pause. Barry was just off his rocker, not dangerous as far as George could tell. "Just makes conversations a bit longer." He popped a crisp into his mouth and raised an eyebrow at Cisco.

"Yeah, sure, I'll go with you."

He was about to eat a second crisp when the question left the younger kid's mouth. What happened? George set the fried potato goodness back down on the plate before reaching up to touch the magic scars close to his ear. Spell damage to the tissue was a tricky thing to heal. He wasn't ashamed of it or the fact his outer ear was basically gone. That was an injury well earned.

"Bit of a fight, we were trying to pull a fast one on some bad people... a spell struck me." That night was probably the beginning of the downward spiral of the wizarding world. Those memories were hardly pleasant.

"Magic can be dangerous."

Cisco felt weirdly comforted by that comment and even smiled a little. "Guess you're right. I just..don't understand what he's asking me to do. He's saying things that are still English but they just don't add up." He was a little more hungry after that. He'd been so worried it'd effected his appetite, some thing didn't change between him as a teen and him as an adult apparently. "This is good." He liked the flavors, he'd never thought to make a chocolate sandwich. He loved candy, so of course it was a hit with him. "And confusing." He made a face.

"Thanks..I mean for all of this." George wasn't his family or anything, he wasn't obligated to take care of him and yet Cisco felt safe with him. He wanted to be around him all the time, just like he were a real brother. "I want you to be my brother instead of Dante." He couldn't help himself from admitting it, George was like the brother he'd always wanted.

"Does it hurt?" Did spells leave lasting pain? He frowned at the idea of someone attacking him. "If anyone tries anything here I'll shoot fireworks at their face." He grinned, that would shock anyone. Nobody would attack him if his little self could do anything about it.

"It might make sense in his head and it just isn't get translated right when it leaves his mouth. One time Ronnie got hit hard in the head and he spewed nonsense for a bit," George mused. Of course his little brother had fallen victim to a prank by the twins, but he wasn't about to tell young Cisco that. "Could be like that or it could just be this place, mate."

It was obvious Goodland did it's own thing. They were all along for the ride.

He blinked at the omission Cisco gave and glanced at the kid. "Family," he started carefully, "isn't always about being related. It's okay to not get along with blood and it is alright to surround yourself with people you like. Family is who we want it to be." George had a family in the Order and the DA. He had family in Harry and Hermione. The problem was George was finding it hard to be around family back home.

Not something to think about now.

"And no, it doesn't hurt anymore. Just looks wicked." He flashed Cisco a grin before popping another crisp into his mouth. "Cheers, mate," he said after he swallowed the snack.

"Maybe we just need to hit Barry in the head then?" It made sense to the kid. Hit him and maybe he'd go back to normal. But maybe that only worked in cartoons. He wasn't sure how the brain worked entirely. According to the science books he'd been reading, nobody was. It was mysterious like the ocean. They only understood parts of it. "He wanted me to build a time machine. That's not even possible, is it?" Then again, George was a wizard. Maybe it was possible. He took another bite of the sandwich and thought about it a little more. "Wonder if I could. Or if old me did." He'd nearly forgotten he was apparently the "wrong" age and an older him had been there before. It was easy to forget things like that. He felt like he was thirteen. He felt everything he thought a thirteen year old felt. To top it off he had no memories of another him being around, but maybe that's what happened in magic places.

As George talked about family not needing to be blood, he chewed at his lower lip idly for a moment before deciding "I like being around you, you're mine then. I mean..if that's not weird." George didn't brush him off like some little kid, or tell him what he should think about certain subjects like Dante often did. He let him make his own choices and decisions and that was new for Cisco. He'd been Dante's shadow since he could remember, and now he had a life and choices of his own to make. It was empowering, and just maybe he'd be able to go home and keep doing just that.

"Yeah it does." He agreed with a grin of his own and finished off that sandwich.
