"Flying Ben," she repeated, trying really hard not to laugh at him. He was so tiny and so earnest and the name made absolutely no sense to her. A perfect recipe for hilarity "A fine name, I think."
Well, at least her admonishment about stealing other people's things had gotten through to him, but him throwing it back at her made her sigh. "People here are nice and if you need something you can just ask me." Not that it was about the things she knew. Sometimes it was about the thrill and the taking. "You know, you don't have to worry so much about how you talk here. I used to have a good friend who talked like you, and he was smart and well-liked. No one cared about how he spoke. In fact, some people liked it." It would take more than that to undo his conditioning, but she didn't like how he felt he had to watch himself.
"Here, it's a snack. Are you hungry at all?" Chips weren't super filling, and what kid wasn't always a little hungry? She reached over carefully and pulled the bag open. "That friend I told you about really liked these."
