She studied him for a moment. He was looking at her with kindness, something she rarely knew. Something no one else around her seemed to be doing. They were all hard, cold eyes. His eyes were warm, his arm relaxed as he held out the jacket.
She reached for it, extending one arm. The 011 tattoo that marked her wrist was clearly visible as she snatched the coat out of his hand and drew it close to herself. It wouldn't help warm up her legs even though it was way too big and reached almost down to her knees.
"Hungry," she said. One word at a time was likely the most he was going to get from her. She hadn't spent much time around other people, and she didn't say more than she needed to say to get her point across.
