Betty & Jughead
a brief furlough
Betty was grateful for the reprieve from their grounding, though she was doubtful it would continue past the time that Goodland was a winter wonderland. She didn't have the energy to protest how unfair the fact that they were grounded was when FP had informed them they could leave the cabin, but she was definitely of the opinion that she had been wronged. It had been wrong to go into the maze, but her mother was overreacting. A day of grounding would have been sufficient. Still it was nice that she and Jughead had been allowed to vacate the premises.

"What did you want to do, Juggie?" Betty asked him, and she leaned against him. "Did you want to go for a walk, maybe?"

"I want to take advantage of being out of the house," apartment, cabin, whatever. At least it wasn't a trailer. Or the back room of a drive in movie theater. It felt like a prison, though, ever since they'd been grounded after the maze. Getting out was good, he needed the fresh air.

"Let's take a walk," he nodded. A walk was a good idea. "Are you warm enough?" He'd tugged his beanie down over his ears. He had gloves and his leather Serpents jacket. The chill was brisk, but he wasn't uncomfortable.
