Who: Stiles and Lydia
Where: Out in the snow and then back home
When: Oct 26th
What: The two love birds are hanging out.
Status: Incomplete

There was no way in hell Stiles was hanging out in their place again. He was tired of staying inside. Plus, nobody knew how long this winter wonderland was going to stick around. So, they might as well have some fun in it before it all went away. Which is why he had decided to drag Lydia out. He wasn't too sure if she'd have fun or not. Especially after she expressed over the net that she was tired of the cold. He'll just have to warm her up later if she gets too cold while being out today.

"Is there anything that you want to do?" he asked with a glance over at Lydia. He really hadn't planned anything out. This was more of a spontaneous thing. But if there was something that Lydia actually wanted to do, then they could do it.

"I think it knows you're paying attention and it's varying everything it can to throw you off." Which she still thought was frankly a bit cruel if she was right. Sometimes it seemed like the entity had complete control, and other times it felt like it was just as along for the ride as they were. "I'm fine, just starting to get used to the temperature so I'm a little cold again." It got cold back home, but not this cold usually. Turning her head, she could see the bubbles starting to form in the milk and pulled back to start slowly sprinkling in the chocolate, stirring all the while. This would help that cold feeling.

"Do you really think that's what's going on?" Could Lydia really be right? Was the Entity catching on that he was paying attention to everything, so now things were lasting longer and happening in different orders to screw with him? It was possible. It also felt a little creepy because that meant they were being watched. He shook that thought of his head. "As long as that's all it is." If something was bothering her, he'd hope she'd tell him. He let his arm fall back to his side when she moved back towards the stove. "Is it done yet? Is it done yet? Is it done yet?" he asked with a grin the whole time he did it.

"I think it's possible? If it's able to do everything else? I mean, someone idly wished for snow and here we are. It's listening to some extent." She really wanted to be wrong, though. "I promise that's it." They'd had a wonderful day so far, and she might not always tell him when things were wrong, she wouldn't lie to his face. "Get the marshmallows or I'm drinking both mugs." When he got like this it was usually better to direct that energy toward a task. Meanwhile, she poured the mixture into the mugs, wrapping her fingers around the warmth of her own and sighing softly.

Stiles sighed. "Do you know how creepy that sounds?" Yeah, he said what he was thinking. "Then again, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. We spoke about moving and then we woke up in a new place." He really did not want to think about the fact that they were all being watched like this. "As long as that's all it is." He hopped off of the counter and quickly grabbed onto it when his feet sort of slipped. That probably hadn't been a smart thing to. Once he was steady on his feet again, he grabbed the bag of marshmallows. "You wouldn't drink my portion. You're not that mean. Plus, I have the marshmellows," he said as he waved the bag around.

Jesus. Her heart stopped when he slipped and she nearly dropped her cocoa. It might have been too strong of a reaction, but the maze was still too fresh on her psyche. "Be careful, Stiles." At least he seemed okay. She covered her fear by taking a smidge to long to grab his mug, then turned and handed it to him when she was more under control. "Mostly I wouldn't because that much would make me sick."

"I didn't realize how slippery the floor was." Or he would have hopped off of the counter with a little more grace. He was totally fine. It could have ended far worse. he could have not caught himself and ended up on the floor. "Sorry if I scared you." He happily took the mug from Lydia's hand and then led the way into the living room where he sat down on the couch and set the bag of marshmellows down on the coffee table.

Grabbing a throw blanket along the way, Lydia set her own mug down next to the bag of marshmallows and wrapped herself in it before sitting with her legs tucked under her body. Maximum cocoon was needed. "Sorry for being weird about it. How's the cocoa?"

Once he was settled on the couch, he took a sip of his drink. "It's okay," he said in between sips. Seriously, if it weren't so hot, he'd probably just down the thing. It was that good. "It's good," he told her with a smile. "I might have to get you to make this all winter." It was definitely better than the powdered hot chocolate mix.

Getting comfy on the couch next to him, she reached for the mug and held it in her lap, leeching the warmth from the mug and waiting for it to cool some. "So we found the one thing I know how to cook? And it's not good as a meal." She wrinkled her nose at him, but her eyes were bright with happiness. "I'll have to stock us up on chocolate bars."

He took a few more sips before setting the mug down on the coffee table. "You are the queen of hot chocolate," he told her as he pretended to place a crown on top of her head. "You'll master other stuff. It just takes practice." Not that he really needed to tell her that. "That would probably be a good idea." He scooted a little closer to her and then rested his head on her shoulder. "Today was good. We definitely need a lot more of these days."

She accepted his imaginary crown with a grin. "I know we'll both get there. It would just feel really nice to put dinner down on the table and feel proud of it." Lydia pressed a kiss to the top of his head before resting her cheek against his hair. "It really was. It's nice for both of us not to have work or school or a real agenda for the day." Maybe she should ask for a weekend day off from her job so they could have more days like this... "And today isn't even over."

"Even though it doesn't always taste the best, I'm always proud of us. As long as we don't burn any kitchens down, I think that's a major win for both of us." He knew how to make simple things from basically having to fend for himself while his dad worked. But learning how to make more complicated things had been fun. Although, he was pretty sure he didn't want to try making noodles from scratch again. That was far too much work. "We should pick a day where we can just do whatever we want," he suggested. It would be nice to have more days like this. They were always busy with something. He looked up at her the best his could. "Nope, it's not. Did an idea pop into your head?"

"Yea, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to have a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal with everyone that people actually like?" At this point, the only hope was a potluck where she didn't contribute except maybe a chopped salad. Or something picked up from one of the hundreds of delis. "I was just thinking that I should ask for a weekend day permanently off of work. Maybe Sunday?" Saturdays she only worked in the morning anyway, that would give them Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday. She rested a cocoa-warmed hand along his jaw and twisted to kiss him briefly. He tasted like chocolate. "No, nothing specific." Just this was pretty nice. "You?"

"I guess. I don't know. I never really did the whole Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner thing, so it's not a big deal to me." But if Lydia actually wanted to try doing those things, he'd help her. "How come you're being so hard on yourself with it comes to cooking?" He had to ask. "I think that sounds perfect. You should ask if you can do it when you go back to work." Getting to do whatever with Lydia every weekend sounded pretty good to him. When she kissed him, he kissed her back. He could sit here all day and kiss her. Especially when she too tasted like chocolate. "Same," he told her. "There is one thing you should do, though?" he didn't wait for her to ask what it as. "You should let me into your little cocoon."

"All the more reason to try. We can make it an us tradition." Maybe with just the pack, but expanding it to their other friends here would be nice too. If something terrible wasn't happening. "I'm not being—I'm good at everything else! And cooking is sort of important for staying alive and social rituals." She was good at things. That's what she did. Setting her mug on the coffee table so she didn't spill, she grabbed the edge of the blanket and wrapped it around him, using the motion to pull him a little closer. The blanket would only cover them both if they were close, she reasoned, moving in for another kiss. "This one was a good idea."

"Well, if we're going to do this. I guess we better practice our cooking a bit more." He wasn't too worried. They had plenty of time to get more things down before the holidays popped up on them. He was about to jump in when she started to say that she wasn't being hard on herself, but she stopped and moved it in a different direction. "Yeah, you are. You had to learn all of that stuff. Cooking is no different. I think if you had a little more fun with it, you'd catch on faster. And then maybe you wouldn't be so hard on yourself." That was the only bit of advice he could give. The rest was up to Lydia. The second she lifted the corner of the blanket, he was already scooting as close to her as he possibly could. And he got another kiss out of, which was a bonus. He stole another quick kiss before saying, "of course it was. I always have good idea."

"I want to get it right, I want to be able to make a meal that shows I care. But I don't want to be that 1950s housewife who has dinner on the table every night just because she's a woman but would rather put her head in the oven." He'd already more than proven that he didn't expect that from her, but it was still a small fear that poked at her every once in a while. "You might be right. About having fun." She knew these things required practice but usually she started out pretty good and just got better from there. "Always?" Quirking her brow, she reached up to comb her fingers through his hair gently. His lips were slightly pinker from the kisses, so of course that meant he needed another one.

"I think anything that you make shows that you care. And I would never want you to be like that. I wouldn't expect you to." Stiles just wanted Lydia to be Lydia. He wasn't expecting any other version of her. "And you know I'll help you whenever you want." Hopefully, that took a little more stress off of her. "Well...okay, maybe not always, but maybe ninety-nine percent of the time I have good ideas." He flashed her a quick smile and kissed her again. He didn't stop that time, though. He gave her a kiss on the corner of her mouth and then her jawn, moving downward with each kiss he gave her until he reached her neck where he gave her playful little nip.

"I know you wouldn't." It was one of the hundreds of things she loved about him. Even at her worst, he didn't want her to be anyone else. "Ninety-five percent," she corrected, her voice breathy as his lips distracted her. A distraction she definitely welcomed, encouraging noises dripping from her lips as she arched into him. "With a margin of error plus or minus three."

"Good. Because I love you for who you are and I wouldn't ever want you to change." He definitely didn't want a Stepford Wife. Nope. "I think you're wrong," he told her before giving her neck another little bite. "Still wrong." He kept on nipping and biting and kissing at her neck esepecailly when she was 'wrong.' Not that he was going to stop when she wasn't 'wrong.' He was marking her neck and doing a pretty good job of it.

She knew exactly what he was doing, the sensations zipping through her body. She'd covered up plenty of hickeys in her time; she could practically do it in her sleep. But maybe she'd leave this one. "Stiles," she sighed, hand diving into the hair at the base of his head l. "I've run the numbers myself." Not that she wanted to talk about numbers right now! She was rather enjoying his ministrations, even knowing their roommates could come back any minute.

"Hmmmm?" He stopped for a moment before starting up again in a new spot. "Uh huh..." He wondered how much longer she was going to keep talking. He placed a hand on her thigh and slowly started moving it upwards, his fingers tracing along the seam of the pants that she was wearing. They should probably stop since they were in the living room. But the possibily of getting caught by their roommtes was kind of thrilling.

Well, this was one way to get warm — in fact, she was kind of getting a little overheated. She was wearing too many clothes. Grabbing the hem of her sweater, she tugged it off and let it drop somewhere over her head. That was a little better. Plus, he had better access this way. Hands free now, she toyed with the hem of his shirt, knuckles brushing against his stomach. "I did. Ninety-five is still good." She still had enough brainpower to talk, but it was easy to tell as her voice hitched that she wouldn't be for long. Which she didn't mind. The prospect of Scott or Cora walking in didn't bother her as much as it had with Cisco, either. And it was nice to have a bit of a change of scenery, even if they would get an earful probably over 'defiling' the shared furniture.

He pulled away when Lydia started to remove her sweater. It wasn't long before he was following suit and removing his own shirt and tossing it to the ground. "Yeah, it is, but you're still wrong." He smirked at her before he reached out and ran a finger alongside her face. "I still love you even when youre totally wrong." He leaned in and kissed her, finger tangling into her hair as he does so.

"Saying I'm wrong about something is definitely in the five percent of bad ideas you have." Letting the blanket fall a bit, she moved to straddle his lap as they kissed, her hands resting on his chest. She wanted — needed— to be closer. "But I love you even when you have bad ideas." It was maddening, sometimes, how much that was true.
