Who: Stiles and Lydia
Where: Out in the snow and then back home
When: Oct 26th
What: The two love birds are hanging out.
Status: Incomplete

There was no way in hell Stiles was hanging out in their place again. He was tired of staying inside. Plus, nobody knew how long this winter wonderland was going to stick around. So, they might as well have some fun in it before it all went away. Which is why he had decided to drag Lydia out. He wasn't too sure if she'd have fun or not. Especially after she expressed over the net that she was tired of the cold. He'll just have to warm her up later if she gets too cold while being out today.

"Is there anything that you want to do?" he asked with a glance over at Lydia. He really hadn't planned anything out. This was more of a spontaneous thing. But if there was something that Lydia actually wanted to do, then they could do it.

"If the bad things didn't happen, it might be boring. They could stand to be significantly less evil, though." She shuddered a bit as her thoughts drifted toward the maze. Nope. Not going there. "It feels like years since anything's been normal. Like this is a vacation with occasional mandatory excursions to hell." It could have been a better vacation, but it was worlds better than evil fox spirits, deadpools, or wild hunts.

Her thighs were just starting to burn when he brought up getting tired, and she nodded immediately. "I think I need to get better about using my gym membership." She let go on the next pass that brought them closer to their things and headed for the bench, plopping herself down on it.

"It wouldn't be that boring. We would still get to deal with the other weird things that happen here. Like, the joke frogs and the singing leprechauns," he pointed out. He didn't think they would ever get to be completely normal here. There was a reason they were all being grabbed and dropped here. And it sure as hell wasn't so they could all live a peaceful, normal life. "I could still do without the hell bits. Especially the bits that linger."

"Aren't you supposed to be using that with Cora?" He asked as he started to follow Lydia off of the ice and towards their belongings. He sat down next to Lydia and started to unlace the skates.

"Ah, so we're negotiating what's allowed." Not such a bad idea, though they might grow to hate the leprechauns even more without the extra bad things to put them in perspective. "The psychological aspect is definitely worse," she agreed. And didn't want to talk about details.

Getting out of the skates and back into her boots was a lot easier than the reverse had been, and she was snuggling back into her coat in no time. "Yea, but I've been a bit of a bad friend lately with everything going on. And before that, there was school and work..." But she was going to make more time! It might be eaiser now that they were roommates, too. "Hey, you didn't fall."

"I don't know. Are we? I mean, I would rather have none of the crazy stuff if we're talking about living normal lives." She was right. And he hoped they never had to deal with anything like that again.

It wasn't long until Stiles had his shoes back on and had put the skates back where they belonged. "Well, you can make it up to her now since we're all sharing the same space."

He put his hands up in victory. "I didn't!" he let his hands drop before saying, "you never fell either. So, I guess this means we both won today." He grabbed her by the hand and pulled her close. "Still in the mood to make snow angels or do you want to go home?"

"I will." She stood and grabbed her skates, following him to the rack. "I just hope she doesn't end up thinking she lives with two people who bug her for things she doesn't want." But who wouldn't want a punching bag where they could imagine anyone's face?

Pressing into his side, she tried to absorb as much warmth as possible. Not moving as much as they had on the ice meant she was feeling the chill again, and even more thanks to the light sweat. "I kind of just want to go home?" He'd wanted to snowboard, but it was cold...

"I don't think she'll think like that because unlike Scott, you'll stop bugging her when she says no or I don't want to talk about it or whatever." He was pretty sure Cora and Lydia would get along just fine.

"Okay, let's go then." He was fine with going home. Yeah, he wanted to try snowboarding, but he can do that some other time. He put his arm around Lydia's shoulders and her close as they started to walk once again.

She loved Scott, but Stiles had a point. "One of us has proper socialization skills and isn't an overexcited puppy in an almost-adult person suit." As an added bonus of their new living situation, maybe she could protect Cora for some of the worst of that behavior when it was spotted.

"Thanks for dragging me out and going ice skating, I had fun. But now I want fuzzy socks and cocoa."

Stiles had to laugh. Especially since he had called Scott a puppy the other day. Then again, he called Scott a puppy a lot. "I've tried to help him. I've given him a ton of advice. But I don't think any of it has sunken in." So, he was pretty sure both he and Lydia were going to start witnessing the things Scott had talked to them about before.

"You're welcome," he said with a bright smile. "And you will get those things once we get home."

"You're doing your best." Reaching up, she patted his chest comfortingly. "It's hard to housetrain some puppies."

She loved when he gave her exactly what she wanted and acted like it was his idea. Well, and she loved when he didn't give in, too. There were a lot of facets to their relationship and somehow she liked them all. She beamed up at him, arms wrapping around his waist. "Love you."

"Now I know why my dad never let me have a puppy," he said with a laugh. "Too much work."

He would give Lydia the world if he could. But her idea wasn't a bad one, so of course he'd give it to her. "Love you more."

Sometime later and they were finally home. No more freezing out in the snow. "Hello, warmth!"

"Or he figured you already had Scott." Prada hadn't been too much work, but maybe Lydia had really only cared about making sure he was potty trained and would keep her company.

It might have been true, but "it's not a competition." It might not have been years of pining, but she loved him in a way that was new for her and definitely deeper than anyone else.

The cabins were nicely toasty, and even more so after being outside. Hanging her coat up at the entryway, she slipped out of her boots so she wouldn't track snow around on her way to the kitchen. It was time for cocoa!

"Or that," he said, smiling.

"Okay, okay, it's not. I'll rephrase it. I love you to the moon and back." Either way, he loved her and now he was kind of being a dork about it.

He kicked off his own shoes and removed his jacket and hung it up as well. "Do you think we're alone?" he asked as he followed Lydia into the kitchen? It seemed pretty quiet, but that didn't always mean anything.

"Why, do you have plans if we are? Because I am not making this cocoa for anyone else unless they show themselves." She raised her voice at the end, peering toward the bedrooms while she took down two mugs. "Get the milk?" She grabbed a saucepan and some bars of chocolate from the pantry. There was no point in not having the good stuff when you were living inside of a snowglobe. This was the one recipe she knew she could execute flawlessly, thanks to her grandmother.

"No, not at the moment. But I'm pretty sure something might pop into my head at some point." He glanced towards the bedroom and figured they were probably alone. Because who could really say no to hot chocolate? He went to the fridge and grabbed the milk. He set it down on the counter and then hopped up on the counter to watch Lydia make the stuff. "I wonder how much longer we have in this place."

Measuring from the first mug, Lydia poured the milk into the saucepan and set it to low before starting to chop up the chocolate. "It's almost been a week, it has to be soon. Though it feels like these things are getting longer." Sometimes that was a good thing, but clearly not always. "I wonder if we'll ever spend an entire month somewhere else." When the chocolate was chopped, the milk wasn't yet warm enough, so she moved to his spot at the counter and rested her forehead against his chest.

"I'm honestly surprised we've stayed here for this long. Usually, we get a few days and then we're back in fake York." He wondered what made this place different. Or maybe it was going to be like this from now on. Instead of just a few days in one new play, they would spend a week or more in new places. "If we do, it better be somewhere awesome and not horrible." He placed his arm around and gave her a little squeeze. "Feeling okay?"

"I think it knows you're paying attention and it's varying everything it can to throw you off." Which she still thought was frankly a bit cruel if she was right. Sometimes it seemed like the entity had complete control, and other times it felt like it was just as along for the ride as they were. "I'm fine, just starting to get used to the temperature so I'm a little cold again." It got cold back home, but not this cold usually. Turning her head, she could see the bubbles starting to form in the milk and pulled back to start slowly sprinkling in the chocolate, stirring all the while. This would help that cold feeling.

"Do you really think that's what's going on?" Could Lydia really be right? Was the Entity catching on that he was paying attention to everything, so now things were lasting longer and happening in different orders to screw with him? It was possible. It also felt a little creepy because that meant they were being watched. He shook that thought of his head. "As long as that's all it is." If something was bothering her, he'd hope she'd tell him. He let his arm fall back to his side when she moved back towards the stove. "Is it done yet? Is it done yet? Is it done yet?" he asked with a grin the whole time he did it.

"I think it's possible? If it's able to do everything else? I mean, someone idly wished for snow and here we are. It's listening to some extent." She really wanted to be wrong, though. "I promise that's it." They'd had a wonderful day so far, and she might not always tell him when things were wrong, she wouldn't lie to his face. "Get the marshmallows or I'm drinking both mugs." When he got like this it was usually better to direct that energy toward a task. Meanwhile, she poured the mixture into the mugs, wrapping her fingers around the warmth of her own and sighing softly.

Stiles sighed. "Do you know how creepy that sounds?" Yeah, he said what he was thinking. "Then again, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. We spoke about moving and then we woke up in a new place." He really did not want to think about the fact that they were all being watched like this. "As long as that's all it is." He hopped off of the counter and quickly grabbed onto it when his feet sort of slipped. That probably hadn't been a smart thing to. Once he was steady on his feet again, he grabbed the bag of marshmallows. "You wouldn't drink my portion. You're not that mean. Plus, I have the marshmellows," he said as he waved the bag around.

Jesus. Her heart stopped when he slipped and she nearly dropped her cocoa. It might have been too strong of a reaction, but the maze was still too fresh on her psyche. "Be careful, Stiles." At least he seemed okay. She covered her fear by taking a smidge to long to grab his mug, then turned and handed it to him when she was more under control. "Mostly I wouldn't because that much would make me sick."

"I didn't realize how slippery the floor was." Or he would have hopped off of the counter with a little more grace. He was totally fine. It could have ended far worse. he could have not caught himself and ended up on the floor. "Sorry if I scared you." He happily took the mug from Lydia's hand and then led the way into the living room where he sat down on the couch and set the bag of marshmellows down on the coffee table.

Grabbing a throw blanket along the way, Lydia set her own mug down next to the bag of marshmallows and wrapped herself in it before sitting with her legs tucked under her body. Maximum cocoon was needed. "Sorry for being weird about it. How's the cocoa?"

Once he was settled on the couch, he took a sip of his drink. "It's okay," he said in between sips. Seriously, if it weren't so hot, he'd probably just down the thing. It was that good. "It's good," he told her with a smile. "I might have to get you to make this all winter." It was definitely better than the powdered hot chocolate mix.

Getting comfy on the couch next to him, she reached for the mug and held it in her lap, leeching the warmth from the mug and waiting for it to cool some. "So we found the one thing I know how to cook? And it's not good as a meal." She wrinkled her nose at him, but her eyes were bright with happiness. "I'll have to stock us up on chocolate bars."
