Who: Stiles and Lydia
Where: Out in the snow and then back home
When: Oct 26th
What: The two love birds are hanging out.
Status: Incomplete

There was no way in hell Stiles was hanging out in their place again. He was tired of staying inside. Plus, nobody knew how long this winter wonderland was going to stick around. So, they might as well have some fun in it before it all went away. Which is why he had decided to drag Lydia out. He wasn't too sure if she'd have fun or not. Especially after she expressed over the net that she was tired of the cold. He'll just have to warm her up later if she gets too cold while being out today.

"Is there anything that you want to do?" he asked with a glance over at Lydia. He really hadn't planned anything out. This was more of a spontaneous thing. But if there was something that Lydia actually wanted to do, then they could do it.

"Where would you want to end up?" He had to ask. "Right." Of course, she was right. He hadn't even really thought about that. But she wasn't wrong. Scott would do exactly what she had said, so they definitely needed to just keep it as the four of them just hanging out. "This is why I keep you around. I still get to tease him, though, right? Because that's fun to me." he flashed a quick smirk to Lydia. "Oh yeah, Scott gave me a villain name the other day." The whole thing was funny to him and he wanted to include Lydia in their lameness.

"That's what makes it fun?" Nope, she wasn't buying it. He was doing it alone. "I can do that. I don't know about the snow angel part, though." He tried not to smile. But it really was hard not to. "Love ya," he pulled her close and gave her a quick kiss on top of her head. "Oh, look, we're here." It was time to get their skate on.

Home was a lame answer, but it was the first one she thought of and then anything else wasn't really the truth. So she settled on a different truth. "I don't care that much as long as you guys are there. Is Hawaii your ultimate good trip?" The only times Scott and Stiles didn't tease each other were when things were seriously bad, so an outing where they didn't wouldn't be fun and relaxing at all, even if everything else about it was normal. "Of course you can. Why are you a villain? And what's the name?"

Grinning into his coat, Lydia gave Stiles a squeeze. "Love you, too." Pulling back, she caught his hand in hers and headed toward the racks of skates, picking out a pair in her size and sitting at the bench to lace them on.

"Really? There isn't one place you have always wished you could visit? Fictional places count too," he added in. "No. I don't think I really have a must-have place to visit. Now if we were talking about fictional places to go, anything Star Wars would make my day." Yes, the geeky side was showing at that moment, but it would be awesome to see that stuff in real life and not on a screen. "Scott kept calling me an evil genius, so I told him to make a villain name for me. At first, he chose Dr. No. But that was boring. So I made him pick something else. Soooo, he gave me Captain Choas." And he was going to make sure Scott suffered for making up that name. It was going to be fun.

Stiles let Lydia pull him towards the racks that held the skates. Only then did he finally let go of her hand. Once he found his size, he grabbed the skates, sat down next to Lydia and changed from his shoes to the skates. "So, what do I get if I don't fall the entire time?"

"I guess Venice or Versailles. I wish I'd been able to pay more attention in Paris." They probably wouldn't repeat, and she'd been a little busy just digesting what had happened to her. "Wouldn't there be fighting if we ended up in some Star Wars planet?" Or just the whole planet blowing up—hey, look, she remembered a plot point! Ugh. He'd done this to her. "Captain Chaos? Sounds eerily accurate, actually."

At least he wasn't waxing philosophical about colors and candy. Finishing up her lacing, she pulled them tight once more before tying two neat knots. "What do you want?"

"Maybe we'll end up in one of those places." They had already done Paris, so there was a good possibility that they could end up in one or both places. "If only you had been dropped off here right before Paris." Even so, he had enjoyed the time they had together there. Even if it hadn't lasted long and they were still all new to the abduction. "Depends on what planet we get to be on and when and so many other things." He was glad that Lydia knew something about the movies. Unlike Scott. He was still determined to make his best friend watch it all. "Does this mean you like it?"

He was working on the second skate when she asked the question. "Hmm...you have to do whatever I want for twenty-four hours."

"It's alright, all that really matters is I did show up. We'll just have to go there back home at some point." Not that they'd know, but maybe deep down they would. All of the Star Wars planets seemed to have some kind of fighting from what she knew. And Stiles would definitely end up wanting one of the light swords. Which would probably end up with broken things and/or people. "I'm not going to get it tattooed on me, but it fits you. If you were a villain."

If anyone else was setting the terms, that request would have sent her packing. But she really did trust Stiles, and trusted that whatever he wanted wouldn't include anything that would hurt or humiliate her. Inconvenience or annoy was still on the table, but she could handle that. She shrugged and stood up. "Alright."

"You showing up definitely made me happy." Paris was good and all, but Lydia showing up had been the best thing at the time. "Agreed." If they even remembered this whenever they did get sent back home. And if they did end up in the Star Wars universe, he would definitely find a way to get his hands on a lightsaber. Oh yes. "No? I think it would look cute on you," he joked.

He was actually surprised that she agreed to it. He thought for sure she'd turn it down and then he would have to come up with something else. But she went for it. "Really?" He too stood up. "What would you want if you win?" It was only fair to ask, right? This was all in fun. And he knew he wouldn't make Lydia do anything bad if he won and he was pretty sure if she wanted the same deal, she wouldn't do anything bad towards him. It was all in good fun.

"Now would be a terrible time to wish I hadn't shown up, by the way." Not that she doubted his sincerity. "Maybe Scott can get the tattoo." If she ever got one, the first would definitely not be that. Scott already had his first one in the books, plus it was his creation.

Stepping onto the rink, she angled the blades so she wouldn't glide too far away yet, just in case he was unsteady. "You mean when I win?" She smirked as she raised an eyebrow his direction. "Twenty-four hours of you doing what I want doesn't sound so bad."

"I would never wish that you hadn't shown up. I just wish you could have enjoyed Paris a little more than you did." That was all. "I'm not holding him down while somebody burns the tattoo into his skin. No thank you. Been there and done that. I don't want to do it again."

Stiles followed right behind Lydia. He made sure to be as careful as possible. So far, so good. He stepped onto the ice, making sure to stand near the wall, just in case he felt his feet go out from under him. But so far, his feet were staying put. Good. "Okay, fair enough. Also, who says you're going to win?" He was determined to win now. He pushed off and carefuly starting making his way around the rink.

"Me, obviously." Once it was clear he wasn't going to crack his skull open on the ice, she pushed off as well, a few powerful strokes building up speed. The cold air burned her face, turning her cheeks and nose pink, but it felt like flying. Closing her eyes, she concentrated on that feeling as she raised her arms, gliding effortlessly over the ice. She wouldn't be able to see if Stiles fell, but she liked the plausible deniability. Part of her was very curious what he would ask of her if she couldn't say no.

She couldn't keep her eyes closed for long if she wanted to avoid running into something, angling her feet to slow her forward momentum with a spin, arms still out to keep it slow. When she skated out of the spin with her eyes open and searching for Stiles, she was practically glowing with happiness. "Alright, this might have been a good idea."

"We'll just have to see about that." Once he was comfortable with being on the ice, he started to skate. He did stop for a moment and just watched as Lydia skated along. She made it look so effortless and she actually seemed happy. Good. That's what he wanted for her since she hadn't seemed too happy the other day about the cold.

He started to skate again, weaving in and out of people who were just moving too slow for him. After a minute, he caught up to Lydia. "You're welcome for dragging you out of the house." He flashed her a smile before taking off again.

Being cold was the furthest thing from her mind right now. In fact, she was starting to heat up under all of her layers. Shedding her coat, she skated over to where their shoes were and draped it over the fence before taking off after him again. She didn't want to be accused of foul play in their little wager so she kept some distance, grinning over at him. "You've had far worse ideas. Feeling shaky?"

Stiles had seen Lydia make her way out of the rink and for a moment he wondered what she was doing, but when he saw her hang her coat by their shoes, he knew what she was doing and continued to make his way around the rink. "Name one bad idea," he said as he glanced over at her. "Nope. I'm feeling pretty good. How about you?"

A few bad ideas sprang to mind (Mexico, the baseball bat, getting her out of Eichen, wanting to go snowboarding...), but this was supposed to be a fun day. Instead, she matched his speed, skated closer, and held out her hand. "I'll tell you all of your bad ideas tomorrow." The list would be so much more comprehensive by then, too.

"Me? Very steady."

Stiles had waited to see which bad idea Lydia was going to bring up but then she didn't bring any of them up. Instead, he was going to have to hear a list of his bad ideas tomorrow. This could be bad. Maybe. He reached out and grabbed her hand. "Too many?" he asked, already knowing the answer to the question.

"So we're both doing well here." It kind of seemed like nobody was going to win this little bet. Which was okay. Then again, they both could fall since they were holding hands now instead of skating on their own.

"I don't want to think about the stupid stuff you've done. We're having a nice time." The look she shot him showed she was mostly teasing. Mostly.

Technically, the bet was only about Stiles falling, which meant he was likely to win. She was running the risk of being accused of cheating with their hands clasped if she pulled too hard and took him off balance, but she'd meant what she'd said about having a pleasant time. She didn't want to ruin that with a fight. "It's kind of nice to be here. We get to be normal most of the time, and the things that are terrible at least are immersive and don't hang over us for too long," unlike at home. "I like being normal."

"Fair enough," he said, noticing the look that she was giving him.

If he did fall, he wouldn't blame Lydia even though they were holding hands. He might mess with her and act like it was her fault, but he wasn't taking this whole thing all that seriously. It was for fun. He looked over at her once again when she spoke. He was about to ask if she meant here in the rink or here in Goodland, but she had already pretty much answered his question. "It would be better if the evil stuff stayed away." And it would be better if he could figure this place out. It was still bugging him a bit that he wasn't making any progress on the board. He wasn't going to bring that up, though. "But, mostly, I'm with you. I like being able to be normal once again." As long as nobody got sent home things would be great, but he kept that thought to himself.

After they've gone around the rink a few more times, he asked, "Are you getting tired yet?"

"If the bad things didn't happen, it might be boring. They could stand to be significantly less evil, though." She shuddered a bit as her thoughts drifted toward the maze. Nope. Not going there. "It feels like years since anything's been normal. Like this is a vacation with occasional mandatory excursions to hell." It could have been a better vacation, but it was worlds better than evil fox spirits, deadpools, or wild hunts.

Her thighs were just starting to burn when he brought up getting tired, and she nodded immediately. "I think I need to get better about using my gym membership." She let go on the next pass that brought them closer to their things and headed for the bench, plopping herself down on it.

"It wouldn't be that boring. We would still get to deal with the other weird things that happen here. Like, the joke frogs and the singing leprechauns," he pointed out. He didn't think they would ever get to be completely normal here. There was a reason they were all being grabbed and dropped here. And it sure as hell wasn't so they could all live a peaceful, normal life. "I could still do without the hell bits. Especially the bits that linger."

"Aren't you supposed to be using that with Cora?" He asked as he started to follow Lydia off of the ice and towards their belongings. He sat down next to Lydia and started to unlace the skates.

"Ah, so we're negotiating what's allowed." Not such a bad idea, though they might grow to hate the leprechauns even more without the extra bad things to put them in perspective. "The psychological aspect is definitely worse," she agreed. And didn't want to talk about details.

Getting out of the skates and back into her boots was a lot easier than the reverse had been, and she was snuggling back into her coat in no time. "Yea, but I've been a bit of a bad friend lately with everything going on. And before that, there was school and work..." But she was going to make more time! It might be eaiser now that they were roommates, too. "Hey, you didn't fall."

"I don't know. Are we? I mean, I would rather have none of the crazy stuff if we're talking about living normal lives." She was right. And he hoped they never had to deal with anything like that again.

It wasn't long until Stiles had his shoes back on and had put the skates back where they belonged. "Well, you can make it up to her now since we're all sharing the same space."

He put his hands up in victory. "I didn't!" he let his hands drop before saying, "you never fell either. So, I guess this means we both won today." He grabbed her by the hand and pulled her close. "Still in the mood to make snow angels or do you want to go home?"

"I will." She stood and grabbed her skates, following him to the rack. "I just hope she doesn't end up thinking she lives with two people who bug her for things she doesn't want." But who wouldn't want a punching bag where they could imagine anyone's face?

Pressing into his side, she tried to absorb as much warmth as possible. Not moving as much as they had on the ice meant she was feeling the chill again, and even more thanks to the light sweat. "I kind of just want to go home?" He'd wanted to snowboard, but it was cold...

"I don't think she'll think like that because unlike Scott, you'll stop bugging her when she says no or I don't want to talk about it or whatever." He was pretty sure Cora and Lydia would get along just fine.

"Okay, let's go then." He was fine with going home. Yeah, he wanted to try snowboarding, but he can do that some other time. He put his arm around Lydia's shoulders and her close as they started to walk once again.

She loved Scott, but Stiles had a point. "One of us has proper socialization skills and isn't an overexcited puppy in an almost-adult person suit." As an added bonus of their new living situation, maybe she could protect Cora for some of the worst of that behavior when it was spotted.

"Thanks for dragging me out and going ice skating, I had fun. But now I want fuzzy socks and cocoa."

Stiles had to laugh. Especially since he had called Scott a puppy the other day. Then again, he called Scott a puppy a lot. "I've tried to help him. I've given him a ton of advice. But I don't think any of it has sunken in." So, he was pretty sure both he and Lydia were going to start witnessing the things Scott had talked to them about before.

"You're welcome," he said with a bright smile. "And you will get those things once we get home."
