Who: Sam and Dean Winchester
What: Volunteer as tributes search party in the maze.
When: backdated to Monday or Tuesday
Where: Corn maze of doooooooooooooom
Warnings: suspense, peril, possibly character death.

It was pretty much the understatement of the century to say Sam had a very bad feeling. There were way too many people in that maze, and not enough people with anything good to say about it. He was relieved his brother wasn’t in there, but he was worried about everyone else. He hadn’t wanted to be weighed down by carrying a bag but he’d loaded up with as many weapons as he could fit on his person and armed with a flashlight had headed off to meet his brother at the entrance to the maze.

He had no idea what to expect once they were in there and the longer he waited the more anxious he felt about it. He hoped Dean wouldn’t be too much longer, otherwise he was in serious danger of loosing his nerve. Sam had never felt apprehension like this, it almost felt as if it was radiating from the maze.

He should probably be more apprehensive than he was, but Dean hardly ever took time to worry when there was a job to be done. at least not about himself. Loading up with his usual arsenal, he contemplated the grenade launcher, before deciding that was probably overkill, and heading to the maze to meet Sam. Honestly, going into a maze filled with things that went bump in the night made him feel normal. In a way he hadn't felt since landing in this reality.

"Hey," stopping beside his brother, he gave him a nod, noting the expression on his face. "You good?"

Sam returned the nod and offered Dean a half smile as an attempt at assurance that he was alright. “I’m good, it’s just...” he looked away from his brother, towards the maze. “I’m getting some seriously bad vibes off that thing.” He explained, just looking at it for a minute or so before he exhaled slowly. “But it’s not like that’s ever stopped us before, right?”

He levelled his gun and his flashlight, ready to move off and he ignored the nagging feeling that this was a very bad idea. “We should get in there.” He said, quashing any trace of uncertainty from his voice.

Watching his brother closely as Sammy stared at the maze, he wondered if maybe diving into the maze was a bad idea. He hadn't seen Sammy this hesitant in a long time. "It ain't the friendliest looking place." He stepped closer to the opening in the corn that would serve as the entrance for them, wondering if it had just opened up because they were there. "Right."

"Let's go to work." Drawing his own gun, he lit his flashlight and stepped up alongside Sam so they were shoulder to shoulder as they entered the maze. It was darker than he'd anticipated, and it took a moment to adjust to the gloom. He could hear muffled movement and voices from further inside and instinct took over, leading his feet forward, toward danger rather than away from it.
