JUNE 15 - JUNE 23
ARRIVALS
Welcome to Goodland, a replica of Manhattan, New York, U.S.A. with one major difference → there is only ONE large apartment building (Ostrich's Villa) that magically adds floors when needed. Oh, my! Your awesome entity grew bored with his current toys and decided to invite more play-things friends so here you are. Exciting, yes? The magic is intense so Goodland is currently experiencing severe weather, including lightening, heavy rain, and intense wind. However, magically, your letter is dry when it floats to you.

Re: Peter Parker -- Arrival One Shot (2/2)

There! It was tall and nearby with a flat roof, and he really didn’t have a lot of other options besides slamming into a building or the ground. Or being struck by lightning. (None of which were appealing, by the way.)

With a bit of twisting and a lot of help from his webbing (and only minimal amount of falling), Peter managed to land on the roof of a building he didn’t immediately recognize (though it had all the markings of a rooftop bar. Or restaurant. Either way, it was nice, and it was fancy). It was solid, and he sat down, the mask of his suit dematerializing to allow him to breathe. Rain splashed his face, and he took a few seconds to try to center himself.

A crash of thunder caused Peter to jump, his mask rematerializing. Looking around, he decided he really shouldn’t be out on a rooftop in the middle of a lightning storm in a metal suit (no matter how awesome the suit). He forced himself to his feet, not bothering to detach the parachute (he could do it once he was inside, he decided), and headed for the door on the far side that (hopefully) led inside. And to an elevator. There was just no way he was climbing down the side of the building, and he doubted swinging down was a smart idea in the rain.

His legs still shook a little from his attempt to hold onto the donut ship and his subsequent impromptu skydiving extravaganza. He didn’t know what was going on. Karen wasn’t responding, which unsettled him. And, once again, he didn’t really have any clothes on under his suit (except another suit, which, under any other circumstances would have been overkill in the superhero suit department. This circumstance was no different, really). Which was fine, except he was pretty sure he left his backpack with his normal clothes in a different part of the city. Outside. Where they were probably getting soaked right now (if someone hadn’t stolen the bag and clothes entirely. Again).

Sighing, Peter reached for the door handle just as a piece of paper floated into his face. Any other time, he’d have thrown it out, but he noticed that this paper was dry despite the heavy rain.

Brow furrowed, he read the letter three times. Goodland? What kind of stupid name was that? And what feathered friends? Peter looked around, swearing he felt eyes on him, before ducking inside the building. And--what? New home?! “I already have a home,” he said to no one in particular, looking at the provided map.

As Peter tried to take in the fact that maybe he wasn’t in Kansas anymore, he thought he should have just stayed on the bus. Or, better yet, he should have found a way to get out of that stupid field trip. (Nevermind that he liked MoMA and field trips in general.) May probably would have--

“May!”

He was gone, and she didn’t know where he was, and, oh God, he didn’t want her to worry! He quickly sprang into action, detaching the parachute before balling it up (he was not going to forget to reinstall it this time. Clearly he needed it since he kept falling from great heights), tucking it under one arm. Then he hurried to a marked exit door, racing down the stairs as fast as his shaky legs would take him (which was pretty fast. Panic and adrenaline pay off yet again).
