Who:Lizzie Saltzman (And weird real hallucination who can kill her Kai Parker (Open to Hope and Michael
What: The worlds worst family reunion
Where: Creepy Corn Maze
[Rating At least PG13 for Kai related violence.
It was a singsong voice, light and taunting and Lizzie froze. This wasn’t Freddy Kruger or a creepy ass clown. This was…
She started to shake on the spot, fear gripping at her heart, mind going back to being just a little girl, hiding under a bed, the sound of metal scraping across floorboard filling her head. She didn’t remember his name now, it had been so long ago, but she knew it was her uncle. The one that Dad didn’t talk about. The psychopath that had killed bio mom and tried to kill her and Josie just for existing.
Hope was right, she had to stay where she was, she told herself, taking a few breaths to centre herself.”
“I just want to talk to you Lizzie. You’re more like me than Daddy wants to admit so, come on, come say hi.”
No. This place preyed on your fears, made you scared of your own shadow. She’d been running around the maze for hours and she had no way out. Maybe there was no way out. Maybe this was it.
The voice lilted “Come oooon. I’m your Uncle Kai. You and me have a lot of catching up to do. Before I kill you.”
The voice was getting closer. If she didn’t run now, she had no chance. And so she ran, not even really sure where she was going but running all the same.
“Oh I really hoped you’d do that.” she heard from behind her. “I do love a chase”
Lizzie was able to run, she always had been. She’d found it cathartic just to run until you felt better but when she ran she always knew where she was going. Now, it was just maze. Just seemingly twists and turns going on forever. And she was tired. Scared and tired. She kept running though, right up until she caught her leg, she felt something in her shoulder twist as she fell, and she wasn't sure about her ankle. It didn't matter though. He was there. “You should have taken a left back there I mean. A left, three rights, two lefts, one right and boom. Or, I’m lying. I’m probably lying. Was it two rights after the...Oh never mind, you helped Bonster lock me away You’re not making it out of here alive.”
He smirked and Lizzie couldn’t look away. She wanted to, there was a lot of hate just bubbling up inside. She wanted to scream. To let it all out. But she had no magic to fight him with.
“I am nothing like you.” she replied. She had worries before but seeing him, hearing him. She could never be this cruel. “You killed my Mom. You’re insane.” she hissed.
“I know. I own it. But so are you, and when you kill your sister people will shake their heads sadly and wonder just how you went so wrong.” It’ll be such a pointless death too, I kinda went ahead and massacred everyone already so the merge is just...pointless.”
He laughed, it was a cold laugh, taking joy from what he was. Unrepentant. But he seemed to regard her for a moment as if debating something.
“Being a siphoner suuuucccked. If you were ever going to leave here I’d suggest becoming a vampire. It’s the best loophole. You siphon yourself. You’d easily beat JoJo then, if you do it before she thinks of it. But it’s a moot point. You won’t make it out” he added after a beat, swinging the axe down toward her.
It was now or never.
Lizzie grabbed his leg, using all her strength to take as much magic as she could. And she didn’t do it nicely. He caught her arm but she'd done what she needed, casting a spell to push him as far away as possible.
He cursed in pain as she tried her best to escape him never mind the pain in her leg, she muttered an incantation to try and take away some of the pain. “That is rude!” she heard from behind her. But she didn’t turn around. She couldn’t.
